A service tech is any professional who is charged with providing anything from basic maintenance, to high level troubleshooting and repair functions to any general range of mechanical/electrical equipment. For example, I used to so Refrigeration (Industrial warehouses, supermarkets, etc . . So that was my range of expertise). The reason it is relevant is because i was following that this is (and it statiscially is proven so) a field with a primarily male workforce. Given that implication, one would assume some of the demeanors and attitudes people in such environment would demonstrate. So basically, what i was saying is that even in that heavily-male dominated industry, someone who is seen as expressing that type and amount of aggression towards women tends to be seen unfavorably by both his peers in the field and in the office.

From personal experience, guys who display a behavior such as the guy mentioned in this post also usually have a range of other problems. They dont practice good teamwork, communication skills, and in general just display a bad attidude. Usually, you work alone as a service tech. So when they send a guy to help you who wont listen, or gives you a hard time during the course of what could be a dangerous task (you usually only get help when it is pretty much obviously impossible for you to do the task alone, and also only if there is help available), it really sets off a range of problems.

Think about it, if i am in a below zero room working around live electrical wires and explosive chemicals and vapors (and usually on a scissorlift that is on a borderline dangerously tipped grade surface) who do you want helping you, the guy who shows up on time, speaks clearly and works together with you, or the guy who shows up hungover, talking expletives about his wife/gf etc (try talking about women the way this dude does around a guy or group of guys who have wives/moms/daughters etc that they care about) and who questions you at every turn with incorrect information and who keeps showing some weird insecurity about being told what to do even though you are technically in charge of the job (so a lot of the liability and guilt of the job going wrong is on you)?

Why people dont just judge women they know? You tell me. It happens so many times more often than people actually judging only people they know.
