I remember as a kid, twice, I got slapped hard by a girl who was like 15, across the ear which nearly caused me to go deaf and I punched her in the temple in return.

Second one was a girl who pushed me hard out of the way into trash cans and I landed on the hard cement floor. She claimed she wanted to be by her friend and told the teachers it was an accident. I grabbed her by the back of the head and flung the bitch past two students and told her to get in line like everyone else.

Surprisingly didn’t get in trouble for either despite being witnessed by multiple students, a feminist, and some teachers.

Some guy posted a while ago about a girl in his school when he was 15 kicked his balls so hard that he literally felt dead inside. She did it just to show her friends how funny the reaction looks. This would have been called sexual assault and violence against women and girls (VAWA) if this was other way around.

I’m female, 49, and I have never in my entire life felt like I’ve been treated differently, or had less opportunity as a woman. Hell, when me and my ex divorced 10 years ago we wrote out our divorce plan at the kitchen table together, never involved lawyers, went to court together and split everything equally.

We didn’t have any child support/visitation orders, we just raised our kid and split his costs. I think our divorce cost like $250 for court fees. I think women who use men for money is disgusting.

Thank you for that. I feel like fighting over material shit only hurts the kid(s) involved.

A lot of women use kids as pawns to hurt their ex, or think they are owed something. I’m an only child, my dad was a highly decorated helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He raised me to not rely on anyone and take care of yourself no matter what. That has made me very resilient. Just had my 18th surgery last Friday. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 21, so I’be had five brain surgeries and more for other shit….I keep a positive attitude about most stuff. Life’s too short for arguing and all that.

That's one of the problems created by using that analogy. Women think because they are the weaker, fairer sex that they can do these things with little or no repercussions. Men not replying in kind reinforces this and perpetuates this kind of behavior. If we simply taught all people that if you assault another person you "will" be assaulted back this would happen far less often.

There is no evidence that the lady was unaware of the man being overtly aggressive. She may have taken that punch and said "Yup, saw that one coming". No way to know.

The expectation for retaliation is normal, but should be equivalent if chosen. That man punched her hard enough to cause serious harmor hospitalization, thats something known to a justice court as "excessive force". Most courts are going to ask that man why he didn't try walk away. Assaulting an assailant, with a means of escape being viable is a crime in a lot of places too.

A narrative is employed when someone deliberately uses the wrong word to describe something, essentially downplaying it. You downplayed his punch against her slap by using the word "hit" for both knowing full well that that simplification allows for a justification on the mans fault.

Can you justify that she was a threat, even one that required such a use of force? He could subdue her, push her away or even walk away, but a punch in the face hard enough for throwing her and potentially slamming her head into the ground is something that can end very badly.

Most courts would call that disproportionate. You can't expect a non biased jury so say that small slap justified a large guy like that to throw a punch hard enough to risk causing serious injury to her head. Don't know how you think courts work, but maybe you should learn up a bit, and the rest of this hive mind that is upvoting you.

Equality still means one should know their strength differences and use judgment to make a resolution that doesn't send someone to a hospital.
