This is what happened back in the late 1800s too. This is the exact reason a lot of women didn't want the vote, because men got it as a result of being sent to fight WW1. (By the way the 1918 suffrage bill gave working class men and women the vote, we never hear that though.)

Women ended up getting the vote in exchange for nothing. I'm all for equality but people really do skew gender politics and history. They act as if it was men opposing the vote, women were there too, just like Trump getting elected. 50% of white women voted for him yet it's been labelled as a "white man's" issue. If society was a person it'd have all kinds of personality disorders.

There are only 2 ways to deal with the Selective Service in terms of equality:

Make it so both men and women have to sign up for it
Make it so nobody has to sign up for it

Equality means both sides get THE SAME treatment, so either both are forced to sign up or neither is.

Most women I bring up the draft to think it doesn't exist anymore. The look on their face when I tell them I had to sign the draft paper before I was legally allowed to get my drivers license is priceless.
