Husband's due home from a work trip tomorrow, so I've stocked up with his favourite snacks, ingredients for a special weekend brunch, and also prepped ingredients for a new cocktail recipe that we can enjoy together tomorrow evening. I'm pretty sure 'Food' should be the sixth love language haha.

I did the dishes & the husband requested burgers & fries for lunch tomorrow, we had everything to make burgers. I went to the store to get fries. Not a ton, but I'm doing what I can.

Just the usual today, laundry, tidying up, put clean tablecloth on dining room table, watered plants.

we're going into winter here, and some of our indoor plants are suffering for it. we have a whole bunch of them and half i have no idea what they even are, so i'm googling "heart shaped leaf climbing plant is dying yellow leaves" and hoping for the best haha. i am not the green thumb in this family.

apart from that, last night my husband mentioned how much he loves soups in winter, so i went and bought a kilo of mushrooms to make a big soup with tonight :)

What kind of plants do you have, and what's happening to them? Yellow leaves often represent water stress -- either too much, or too little. Brown tipped leaves are a sure sign the plant isn't getting enough water.

After some googling I have some creeping arrowhead that's going yellow/brown, but they're growing directly out of water and always have so I'm not sure how their water conditions could have changed!

I also have a bunch of some jasmine variety growing near the window, and all the leaves near the end of each vine are turning yellow and waxy. I think it might be a lack of sun from the shorter days?

If it's growing out of water, then we have 3 main options: either there's been a significant change in temperature, it's not getting enough light, or (probably the most likely if the plant is indoors) it's lacking nutrients. When is the last time you fertilized it?

Likewise with the jasmine. I think your first step should be giving them some fertilizer and being sure the jasmine is getting the right amount of water. If the leaves are falling off the jasmine, you're probably right that it's the change in amount of daylight affecting it. This article may also be helpful :)

Wow thank you! You're the best! I'm going to try the fertiliser first, it's been a while for both of them so that would be an easy fix. Finding more light/warmth in the middle of winter is going to be a bit harder!

I found this chart which may also be helpful, in case nothing else I've suggested works for you.

I officially added 'clean stove drip pans' to my cleaning list, because it's a task I willfully 'forget' to do.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Update: I cleaned the drip pans and the fridge 😊

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Haha adding it to the list is a start!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If it's on my list, it will get done. It's just one of my least favorite chores 😊

I tackled the bathroom and deep cleaned everything! (Mostly because we have guests staying over tonight). I also finally got a nice rug for our living room. It really tied the space together.

Took our son to his doctors appt, unpacked some boxes from moving, some laundry, and dishes. Will do some tidying up and figure out dinner.

Nothing today! Took our son to swim lessons and now he’s laying on me for his nap (he’s 7 months and wants to be Velcro’d to me!!). We will do dishes, make dinner, organize, etc. after nap!

My 6 month is currently napping on me as well. Cherishing these moments!

I love this post!! I almost finished repainting our picnic table this morning. I also scored 12(!) free petunias from a free pile down the street and planted those. Mostly I am in maintenance mode while we do a bunch of activities outside the house until we can settle into summer a bit.
