Bad excuse ideas?

I remember reading a “bad excuse” field report where she started talking about the weather and it worked for her lol. I think an easy way to create “bad excuses” is to initiate a lot of small-talk. There’s no reason to be chatty like that, so it might signal to the guy that you WANT to talk to him and be around him (which is what we want). You can also ask for favors with things that you don’t REALLY need him to help you with. If you’re at lunch at the same time, you can ask him to watch your stuff as you run to the vending machine, and when you get back you can thank him profusely and then ask about his day. Now you guys are chit-chatting and there’s room to flirt!

This worked on me once:

A. Smiling, flirty girl makes herself available for conversation with me a LOT but I was young and slow on the uptake.

B. Smiling, flirty girl, after conversation is established but she realizes I’m not getting it says “Hey, we could be having this conversation at Marley’s!” She followed up with cocking her head to the side and smiling. (Marley’s was the local hip pub/hangout joint).

Girls can be a tough read, but some signals are Large Print. The change of venue moved us from a “work-like” (although we didn’t work together - she worked at another business in my building, and would miraculously take breaks at the same time I did) environment to a “date” type environment; Marley’s was about a five minute walk from where we were.

Men don't take hints. Even those hints that for us women feel like waving a huge neon sign.

That's my experience with the men I've known, at least. Romantic partners and friends coming to me for advice.

Once I invited a man to my bedroom to check out the view and he did just that. Looked out my window and said "nice view". MEN. (He did get the hint after a while)

If making a move would be so risky for him, he'll need to feel safe and confident before he does. Is there anything he could help you with/fix for you/give you his opinion about? I find that men usually love it. It shows their competence and makes them feel really good about themselves. It boosts their confidence. It gives them a good excuse to spend some time together... and it gives you plenty of opportunity to bang the aforementioned neon sign on the man's head.

"Hey, I've heard you're really good at X/know a lot about X and I have X problem... I was wondering... maybe you could help me out?"

Look at him when you ask, then away, then at him again. Tilt you head a bit so you can look at him from below through your eyelashes (...does this make sense in English? I hope you get the picture). Fidget with your hands a bit, hug yourself with one arm (...again, can you picture what I mean?).

I don't know if it's the eyelashes or the "squishing your breasts together" part, but this approach usually catches a man's attention.

He'll WANT to slay a dragon* for you. Maybe afterwards you could thank him with a coffee?

*change a tire/fix a lock/move some stuff/lend you a book/even something as simple as reaching for something on the high shelf. He'll still feel like he slayed a friggin' dragon, if you play it right.
