Hey Ladies! Been a bit since I posted but I need your help.

So my boyfriend has been dropping hints and put out feelers that he may propose in the future. Now I am totally RP and like letting him lead. I trust him to make good decisions and take control. With that said I think he may be having some trouble with picking out a ring.

We were recently out and he dropped by a jewelry counter and called attention to the engagement rings. Now, I kinda froze because I was caught a little off guard. I don’t want to play a role in the selection of my ring. I want him to pick something out for me that he thinks is pretty and special. I want to be surprised when he does ask. I like the idea of him taking the initiative on his own. To me I am confident I will love whatever he gets me because honestly I am more focused on spending my life with him and not the rock I’ll be wearing.

So with that said. I’m really trying to avoid having a super direct conversation about the ring and how I would prefer the proposal to go. Do you ladies have any suggestions on ways I can get this communicated?

I’ve considered talking to our mutual female friends and expressing my beliefs or dropping it a little more strategically in conversation.

To be clear my goal here is to make him feel more comfortable and confident about picking out the ring... and the fact I’ll say yes without coming off as too much. I do have a Pinterest board with jewelry pinned and some engagement rings are in this folder which I’ve considered also mentioning very strategically.

Any ideas or suggestions?

TLDR: boyfriend is dropping hints he is going to propose and I get the feeling he is a little lost about what kind of ring I will like. I just want something he thinks is nice. What do I do?
