I hope everyone had a great 4th weekend as we did. This FR is about our first trip together over the weekend.

We decided to go camping and I've never been camping before so of course I was a little nervous. It didn't help that we were going to be 5 hours away and every campground in the area we wanted to be in were all booked. My SO said to me before we left to let him handle it so I did and I didn't make a peep about it. When we arrived we sat around for an hour and called a lot of different campgrounds and eventually he found one, but it had nothing special (electricity, fire pit, etc). When we got to the campgrounds he went into the office alone and came back out with a spot that had electricity, water, a table, and a fire pit. This was a great reminder in that if your SO says he will handle something then shut up and let him. Him and his brother sat up camp while I took care of our dog then we went back downtown for dinner, cherry beer, and fireworks. I LOVE cherries and this place is known as the cherry capital so all I asked was that we indulge in one cherry related treat daily. My SO used to work on cherry farms when he was HS aged so he's a big fan of it all in this place as well. After that we were all pretty pooped so we went back to camp and went to sleep.

Day 2: Woke up a bit late so we all ate a quick breakfast then him and his brother went to shower then I went to shower after. I brought my makeup with me and did it every day. It wasn't a hassle and with as limited our time together like that is already I wasn't going to not do it as I know he appreciates and likes it. Nothing changes just because you're somewhere different. We went to the beach and saw the air show. They just approved funds for a specific jet this past 4th and on the 5th it was out for the air show being tested. Afterwards we got real cherry milkshakes then went for a drive by all of the wineries. I cried a little because it was that beautiful and it made me feel guilty for being associated with humans who are just ruining a lot of that natural beauty everywhere. SO thought that was really cute lol. All along this drive the farms have stands to buy their products so we stopped at two: one we bought strawberries, homemade cherry, blackberry, nectarine jam, and honey from their bees then the other we bought semi-sweet and black cherries. We went to the lighthouse beach and ate our snacks. That night we had a camp fire dinner and..I'm pretty sure I love camp fire cooking more then any other way of cooking.

Day 3: Same morning routine. Then we left to do more sight seeing. We went back to the lighthouse beach and stopped for more cherries along the way. We also stopped so I could take tons of pictures of the vineyards with the bay in the background. Afterwards we went downtown and ate freshly caught fish outside and his brother found a place that is known for their cherry pie so after that we drove up there. It was so good that we bought 2 pies to go and they didn't even make it 1 full day. We left there and ate more food at camp over the fire. Unfortunately, it was going to storm very bad (flood and tornado warnings/watches announced) so our trip had to be cut short since we had a tent. It's a good thing we did leave because we would have woken up in a flood. If the decision was up to me I would have most likely stayed as it wasn't raining that badly at the time, but this is another reason WHY I'm not in charge.

We had no privacy all weekend since his 17 year old brother and our dog accompanied us. We got home around 2:30AM and stayed up for hours ;). He had no complaints about me this entire weekend and is so excited to go back again with me, BUT the one thing is that I must learn cardinal directions before we can go back. I relied on my gps this weekend and he has an issue with that as it's not always right and because I definitely should be able to read a map and be able to tell which way is which. All these years my SO has been telling me I would LOVE camping, but I was always eh. He was right. Imagine that? All these years my SO has been raving about the land up there and how we should get some and now I understand why since I've seen it for myself. This trip just proved even more to me why I should always remain calm and not worry over things that I have nothing to do with. I truly have nothing to worry about with my SO in charge. Yes, it's hard sometimes because I am so alone, but my life is very blessed and I am in a great spot as is our life together. I feel very accomplished with how far I've come since the beginning of our relationship with adapting to RP ways. There's always things to work on, but I'm thankful my old bad habits are pretty much dead and this trip really proved that to me, but I could also tell he saw it too.
