I want to feel owned and loved and protected. I want my partner to feel like a warrior, the big man of the house, respected, safe, and loved in our home. I want him to feel my devotion and crave me for more of it.

Lately when we talk, there has been a "me vs them" mentality creeping into our conversation that is causing discord (especially when we talk about the Bible, but please hear me that all non-Christian feedback is welcome).

I think a lot of the discord we are experiencing is due to how we are thinking about each other when we are apart.

For ex: I am sure he is wrong about something, and I let him be wrong, I don't correct him, and I say words that validate him, BUT later on, in my head, I will think to myself "I'm so much smarter than him. I can't believe he thinks xyz. He's wrong but I still love him."

For ex: I imagine scenarios in the future where he annoys me by saying ignorant or mean things and I imagine how I'll "get through it."

These thoughts are damaging the relationship. I firmly believe that the narrative in our minds is the reality of our lives.

The thought of blindly trusting my man brings me so much joy. The thought of him feeling like I Am His brings me so much happiness.

The idea of being able to let go of everything and feel safe and protected and owned and loved in his hands makes me w.e.t. for him like I've never felt for anyone.

This me vs them mentality didn't always used to be there. I think we are Both doing this to each other in our minds lately.

I'm sure that if I'm able to fix my own mind and change the damaging inner dialogue within me, that his inner dialogue towards me will change for the better, too.

Please share any tangible ideas, mind work you do to yourself, or advice you have on how to change these intrusive and unwanted narratives in my head.
