Hi everyone! Long time lurker here and posted a few times but still transitioning to RP.

So I was in a controlling relationship for a long time, about 2 years. I'm out of it now thanks for my good friend, thank God. I'm still healing from it but I have definitely gotten a lot better.

So the other day I went on a first date with a guy I had met at my friend's birthday. We went to the beach, had dinner, and hung out after dinner. It was very casual, but he was really nervous throughout the date which made me feel a little awkward. Conversation was casual and we mostly talked about random things.

While walking, I took initiative and held his hand because I sensed he wanted to... Honestly, I'm not sure if I should have done that but he did not mind and later on that night, we ended up kissing and made out but did not go further than that (he initiated the kiss). I would not want to go further than making out, but I feel like he wanted more. He wants a second date, but what would be a good way of showing him that I don't want to go further than kissing?
