An old manager once reminded me that, although I taught all day before coming to my half-time librarian job, I was not the same authority figure at the library. Remember that. Don't talk to your husband like a child or an irrational parent, as I think that's the greatest risk as a teacher.

I’ve never been a homemaker or a mom, but I’m sure you can manage to keep the same feminine nurturing energy st home if that’s a priority to you. Good luck! :)

You deal with your kids all day and have no trouble changing your attitude (from mommy to wifey) despite him being in the same space. It will probably be easier to swap behavior modes when working, because you teach at a different place.

You will have less time and energy to flit about the house being cute. Try and be mindful about how you spend your days and evenings off. It may help your mindset to have dedicated chore times. I am (hard to explain! ) service-oriented. I don't feel quite right unless I do wifey home stuff. So when I worked and studied, I spent my first timeslot off doing those things, and it eased my soul. Does that make sense?

It'll take an awareness. When you're tired from working all day and you come home, you'll have to slip back into SAHM mindset and tend to your family. Obviously, there will be things that change as far as what you can do, given you aren't there all day, but don't let your family become your second priority and you should be fine.
