Hey ladies,
My SO (m28, f27, together 7 years) keeps mentioning he does not feel comfortable expressing his feelings around me because I don't ever seem to understand him or sometimes I just sit there silently because I don't know what to say. (Normally feelings of low self esteem and worth)
This is making me come accross as not caring about how he feels. If you read my last post: it also doesn't help that I cheated on him (I am realising a lot of that occurance has to do with my low self worth but that's for another post maybe)
I read about the difference between empathy and sympathy on theredpill. Here is the link:

Am I not able to communicate because I lack empathy towards his problems? Or is this communication issue something I can learn? He spoke about the same problems he has with his male friend the next day and they were on the phone laughing and he was more at ease about it.
We don't really go on dates either because often times I say nothing. We rarely went out even before I cheated and it has been a few years now he's mentioned he doesn't like going out with me because I'm always silent or I don't start conversations - he normally does. Does this mean I am boring or just bad at talking? I feel like we chat a lot while we wait for food (if we go to a restaurant). Obviously while eating we don't speak much and we don't stay to talk after, we normally eat and leave right away.
Do you ladies have any books I can maybe read to help with my comminication? I read the Surrendured Wife recently - should I just re-read that?
We spend A LOT of time together. Will keeping some distance help with this issue? Do I not have anything to say cause we are always together?
Thanks for all your help.
