I don't know if I learned anything new here, because I found this subreddit after reading about men's rights and feminism, but I really like the .. straighforward tone here. I like this subreddit a lot!

As for myself, I will just say that I used to be the definition of a beta and I blame this on my essentially parentless upbringing. I'm just about in my mid 20s and I'm so angry at myself for fucking up so many chances with women. I used to think women were something special and I used to put them on a pedestal. No wonder I would run into a wall almost all the time.

But it's really something special to 'take the red pill' and see women in a new light. Men and women are different. Among the many things I learned here (and elsewhere) is that men and women act a certain way for evolutionary reasons and this key insight has enabled me to understand so much more.

I still have yet to make major changes in my life beyond just changing my attitude and thoughts. But arming myself with knowledge is not a bad start.

You don't have to follow social construct, you can live your live however you want
The best way to be happy is to be 100% honest with yourself about everything
The way relationships are shown in the media are often so out of sync with reality it's kind of funny in a sad way
To some women a boyfriend/husband is a guy they're in a relationship with that gets to deal with their emotional side. Some may still fuck other guys because they don't have to risk feeling hurt as long as their boyfriends/husbands don't find out so they don't lose their emotional safety net. Don't be an emotion tampon
The idea that men have choices scares the shit out of a lot of people
A girl's attention/interest is proportional to how much you dislike her and treat her like shit
A girl will hit on you in front of her boyfriend if she sees a chance to upgrade with you
You are what matters most, your happiness should be your number one priority
Giving your time/attention away freely is like a girl fucking everyone she meets
Don't blame a beta for his choices because it's what he's been taught his entire life

Edit:

Pay attention to the way guys are treated on tv and in movies. You start to realize that a lot of the guys are talked down to, treated like children, tools, yelled at but never yell back, and don't ever seem to be in control of the situation.

I find it fascinating how people who understand the theory of evolution and agree that creationism should not be taught as science can at the same time argue that women are just men minus testosterone and that all of our sexual drives are purely cultural constructs.

I've gone from the nice guy who didn't know why life didn't really feel right, to a really pissed guy who's stopped talking to girls (no more bs conversations) until I've got my shit together and actually understand and give myself some purpose. Also feel like most the advice on the ask forums and relationship are democratized crap-pools that keep guys spinning in circles as their girls spin their own plates. Pretty pessimistic outlook right now, but I really don't give a shit (which is actually a first).

So I thought I would share some fairly brief beta stories..

*One time, in a [very large] community college, I was going from my classes to my car. I was around 20 years old and was in a foul, gloomy mood, which was typical for me. My car was in a parking garage (it was a huge CC, again), next to which was a bus stop with several people waiting there. As I approached the garage, this really cute girl walked out and did all the womanly signs to show interest. Maybe she touched her hair or moved her hips while walking towards me, I can't recall, but as she was walking towards me, she was absolutely giving me 'the look', though not a very intimidating one (as in, "TALK TO ME; I THINK YOU'RE CUTE!"). I saw this, our eyes connected for a brief second, but I barely even slowed down my walk.

The funny and sad thing about this encounter, though, was that this kid, standing at the bus stop nearby saw this whole exchange and he could barely contain himself. He literally pivoted on his 2 feet, kind of doing a double-take ("as in, OMFG, WTF HAPPENED?"), while making something like the 'trollface' facial expression.

Sadly, this is one of but many encounters where a girl was showing me active interest first. I recall at least several encounters from middle school and high school where girls were approaching me. In middle school (8th grade), there was this cute Russian girl, let's call her A, who would try to talk to me regularly. I would talk briefly to her, mostly in single sentences. Why? Don't ask. The funny thing is that I only got the faintest idea that what I was doing was possibly completely retarded when I found out that a guy friend of mine was crushing on her quite a bit.

Another girl in 7th grade, let's call her K, tried to talk to me across the entire classroom. I was doing stupid things with a pencil and an eraser (building a tower or such), and she was saying things like "OH MY GOD, THAT IS SO AMAZING", in a completely non-sarcastic way. You can guess where that went. I think she was pissed at my in 8th grade.

Another cute girl in 8th grade was staring at me fairly regularly. I liked her, too. But I didn't know that either of us liked each other back then, because I didn't know wtf was going on in my head - until my brother told me that that girl was asking about me and he jealously was inquiring if there was a thing between us.

And so on and so on and so on. I was a pretty good-looking kid in middle & high school - the introverted, smart (but not exactly nerdy) kid. It's funny that I remember all this ****.

I have stories from college, too, but they were either more pathetic or with better outcomes. But I find it interesting that I think about stuff even from middle school, and I that's telling.

I do have to point out that my betaness didn't necessarily stem so much from being brainwashed, but from a lack of socialization, even at a family level, and from moving to a different country just before I became a teenager. More than anything, I didn't even want anything, back then. I lived in own, miserable, empty world, and this was ok back then, because I dosed myself with obscene amounts of video gaming every single day. The biggest problem with this moving in my late pre-teen years was that I had lost my identity and kids here just had totally alien priorities. Video games became my Achilles Heel - the only thing I really talked about with other kids.. so girls were not in the equation.

It was only when I fiiiiinally transferred to a 4-year college, away from [non..]family and all the BS, and realized that I could want things and that I could even pursue the things that I want. Now THAT was when the Blue Pill bullshit kicked my ass. It had barely come from my family. My family took very little part in my upbringing. The media, the movies, TV shows, and feminism all took part in me being a white knight faggot and causing me to fuck up in college a lot. Also, some alcoholism didn't help.

But I made a point of diving in, headfirst, in college, into social interactions. I had some great times, but I fell a lot, and I fucked up a lot. I knew I would get burned by stepping majorly outside my comfort zone. But getting burned really badly, and getting super depressed, is what eventually landed me in a subreddit like this. The only way from here is towards the light!

EDIT: I realize that I appear to blame my family a lot for my life. I guess I can't deny that. That's all a part of my betaness. Real men don't blame others for their problems - they look for solutions, instead.

Three Cardinal Rules of getting and keeping the rare good girl:

Maintain Yourself: physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, etc. . .
Always Control the Frame: women want to be led, they'll shit test you to prove indeed that you do lead . . .
Be Independent: She must need you, not vice versa. Have your own friends, hobbies, vices etc . . .

I operate by these principles now and have been happier for it. The white knight illusion, that I sincerely ascribed to, was forever shattered after i completely Beta'd myself in my last LTR. . .

Still work to be done however.

The long-term behavior of most reasonably attractive heterosexual western women can be fairly accurately predicted by many insights that are revealed here.

If you are a western heterosexual male, it would do you a great deal of good to follow much of the advice here-- get in superb physical shape, up your game, project confidence/disinterest, learn to filter out women with low quality personalities (except in some cases where you're just looking for a trouble-free lay) and focus on your own major life goals above all else.

On the flipside, for various reasons some guys run too far too fast with this and it leads them to weird/inaccurate cross-sections with outdated religious ideas, seemingly alpha behavior that is really only disguised beta, and even occasionally some misguided misogyny (yes, I know, people don't understand & misinterpret things-- nonetheless, I feel pretty confident in stating that there are a few guys here who have irrational anti-woman issues they need to work out and who could benefit from remembering that women are simply different, not 'lesser').

Also, I think a lot of this stuff is less applicable after a man hits his mid-50s, although the ideas of taking on a properly masculine role and still employing game with your partner would continue to apply, and if you have children or younger people who see you as a father figure, the red pill can help you guide them.

20 yrs old and incel as fuck. I'm a complete asshole that unconsciously goes around fucking people over that he hates. I have no natural game and I forget what little game I know during rapport formation. This place is making feel an extreme pressure to just gain experience quick or else I'll miss the boat. On the other hand this place is making me not interested in relationships. It is slowly making me remove myself from environments where I might form a relationship.

I need a red pill game injection lol.

This sub has added clarity to some of the interactions I've had with women in the past. I couldn't figure out why the ones I cared about would walk away, and the ones I just wanted to bang would chase me like a dog after a bone.

Now I understand that the girls I sidelined I was very much being alpha towards. Doing my own thing, seeing them on MY schedule, etc. The girlfriends on the other hand were bringing out my chump nice guy tendencies.

I'm absorbing all I can, and have a cheerful attitude towards the future thanks to this sub and the various articles I've read through it.
