This isn't the right post for dead bedrooms since it isn't me, but I need to vent and this seems like the most open and relevant place to do so.

My buddy and his wife are in their mid to late 20s, as we all are. I met him through my fiancée many years ago - he's a great guy, but very quiet, laid back and, honestly, a pushover. Any time his wife and him argue or she gets mad in front of us, he just shrugs it off and agrees with her. I feel terrible because whole I know we should all pick our battles, he literally never defends himself and she walks all very him.

Her, as in his wife, isn't mean, really. She's not like a terrible person in the sense that she's a murderer or anything, but you can basically tell she has minimal respect for her husband as a person. She walks all over him from what I've seen. She has no fun whatsoever. She wasn't always this way. Many years ago when my fiancée and I first got together she was in good shape, fun, would hang out with us and drink and hang out and dance. Now she's gained a ton of weight, has no fun whatsoever and complains about the aforementioned weight but does nothing about it. You can tell that there's no spark between them. She even gets mad if he drinks, so she dictates his actions in a sense.

The kicker? They just got married less than a year ago. They should be fucking like rabbits. They also moved into a new apartment about a year ago as well. My fiancée brought it up that they never have sex anymore. They were trying for a kid for months and it didn't happen, and now all of a sudden (maybe more than suddenly, but you get it) they cease sex? My fiancée says it's really due to the wife, and the husband doesn't really push it. I can't imagine being in a newly married relationship in your own place and going from "let's have a kid" to... nothing, or next to it. Imagine how that sets the stage for the future!

I just feel bad for the guy. I consider him a friend, but we never hang out alone, if you guys understand that. We only hang out in couples, but him and I run errands together when we do hangout (like to the store while the girls stay in) and I did go to his bachelor party. I... just cannot comprehend being in a relationship with someone like that. Going from a fun, attractive, energetic girl to one that has ballooned up, is lazy, complains and dismisses intimacy.

Just needed to vent in a safe place.
