so i visited my parents a few weeks ago as it was my fathers birthday. Now, they do have two cats atm and have had 4 cats in total (previous two died).

I was sitting in my parents living room and the two cats strained around the room.... you know... as cats do....

My sisters would play with them, like, heavily, almost hassle them and the cats would play with them very shortly if at all...

i just sat there... i never really liked cats.

Backstory: my parents had two cats before (independent of each other) and both of them were arrogant bitches. Like literally... nobody was allowed to lift them up (unless you wanted your arms look like after a suicide attempt of course) so i always kept away from them while secretly liking them... i wanted them to like me so i kept trying... you can guess what happened.

They did like my father though... he never really came to them, he only cared about them when he was with them... he was very "kind" to them but only when they came to him... i never understood that when i was younger...

Now the actual/new two cats are a little bit different, they are younger and come more easily to you. I saw first hand how my sisters came to them and dangled some cattoys in front of them. The cats would play with it but only very shortly, then they would literally run away at some point and stay away... almost like a refractory period.

So i just sat there, naturally ignoring them (aka being branded by the previous sobs) and later that day they came to me... first sniffing around me... then jumping onto the couch sniffing some more.... then the first laid down on me and purred... i petted her a little bit and she went crazy with the purring... i kept doing it while basically ignoring her as she was looking to my face at some instances. My sisters went crazy and i enjoyed that (everyone with siblings will know what i mean).

Later on the cat left... but the second cat came up to me and did the exact same thing... she stayed for a long period of time, really rolling around in my lap and purring. The second cat came back again... my guess would be its not visual with cats but its about the purring...

So by now i guess everyone understood the analogy im trying to make?

So let me finish with this thought....

Are the cats behaving like that because they are cats or because they are female??? hm.....
