Well it's definitely what most of us would recommend, I'm not so sure it's a 'TRP tactic'. You spend time with those whom you enjoy spending time, and less so the rest. Adjust as needed. I don't think 'avoid people who actively wear you down' should be a consider a TRP thing, as much as a 'don't take shit you don't have to'.

Take the exact same scenario and flip the sexes. Guy is flirty with other girls, so girl pulls back. Guy acts like a human being, she pays more attention to him because he's more pleasant to spend time with. He loudly broadcasts what a manipulative whore she is because he finally clues in; be good or be gone. She posts exasperated that he could behave in such a way and all of the girlfriends jump in to say 'Ditch the dick, there are plenty of fish in the sea and you don't have time for immaturity.'

Because you still think of it as 'tactics', a ploy for the purpose of sex. It's not. Surround yourself with better and positive people, reduce your contact with the manipulative and negative. That's it. The answer would be the same for best friends of the same sex. If you have someone actively trying to undermine, insult, and manipulate you, GET AWAY.

No part of that stems for her realization that he was predictable and she saw it. It stems entirely from how she processed the information. The realization that someone is nicer when you're nicer and absent when you're not doesn't settle down to 'you're a pussy and my bitch because I like trying to press your buttons' unless it's from a very toxic person.

...from here you want to always improve "Me" and that will require knowledge of the "Not Me" which will improve your relationship.

The real reason you should be talking and flirting with other girls when your woman gets distant is to actually start forming potential plates. The purpose is to create plates... not get your woman jealous. If you're doing it to get her jealous, she could sense it and see the petty game. And you should be flirting and creating plates with the intention not to be found out by your woman. Once she finds out or senses that you are flirting as a performance, you are done and chumped.

This is because she thinks (to her mind, knows) that he won't actually follow through. Much like that white knight who says "if you touch her there's going to be trouble" but won't actually do anything, they know that there will be no follow up, so they don't care about your empty threats.

She knows he's flirting with other girls to try to keep her, so every time he does, she gets confirmation.

If he was actually willing to walk away, he wouldn't be hearing her call him out (more than once, anyway).
