One sticking point. You weren't raised by a single mother, you were raised by a widow. 'Single Mother', to me, means divorced. Since women initiate 60%-90% of divorces, their circumstances are entirely of their own creation and I feel no pity or respect for them.

Your mother in all likelihood shared little to no traits in common with the typical 'single mother'.

Ah I see your point, I guess I didn't really make that connection. Thanks dude

[–]putsch801 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. There have been several posts on here over time that distinguish between single moms and widows, including arguments as to why widows are an exception to the "don't LTR single moms" rule.

Thanks for your service, bro.

I was used and abused from 14-18 because even then girls aren't quite as dumb as we so often take them for.

Amen brother. My cousin is about 14 years old. She looks like 17, is really sporty and intelligent and has many beta orbiter already.

I dont know if she already had sex and I don't really care, but she said to me "I like to use these boys, they do what I want if I can give them the right feel"

I just laught when she said that to me.

For when ye speaketh the name GayLubeoil, the clouds part the light shines through and the great one gazes upon you.

In all seriousness if you want to succeed on TRP provide content that is both useful and entertaining to 20 year old college dudes. It sounds like you had a difficult life and have a lot of experiences to share. But those experiences need to be presented in a fun way. Colorful experiences from the Marine Corp are probably a good start especially if they can teach the intricacies of power dynamics or organizational politics.

Noted I appreciate the feedback. I'll make it happen more than likely once or twice a week.

[–]pirateninj4 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Everything right up to the part where you came home and owned it is a play by play of my first 20 or so years alive. Kudos to you man for figuring it out early on. It'll make it a lot easier to maintain that throughout your relationship.

There's definitely room in TRP for married theory, god knows it'll add some diversity to the threads you'll see most.

Welcome!

There's definitely room in TRP for married theory, god knows it'll add some diversity to the threads you'll see most.

  • If you are single, then don't ever get married.

  • If you are married but don't have kids, then pull your head out of your ass and get out before it is too late.

  • If you are married and have kids, then you are fucked. Pull your head out of your ass and get out before it gets any worse.

There you go. Married theory covered.

Not all marriage is like the broad generalization you make here.

What you say is correct in a society that is infested with feminism and divorce rape. It is not correct in a old style patriotic society. These still exist in the world today.

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist 0 points0 points0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

These still exist in the world today.

Only in the dreams of hamsters. If you get married these days, you are an idiot. Period.

[–]veryhappyguy 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

You misunderstood what I said. I said that such societies still exist in the world today. If you live within such a society, marriage is not a bad idea. If you live in the typical Western society, marriage is a terrible idea.

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist 0 points0 points0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You misunderstood what I said. Any such society that exists is a backwoods shithole that is rapidly becoming westernized anyway. They can change your marriage contract without your consent at any time just like has happened in the west.

I guess I should have been more clear: If you involve the government in your relationships these days, then you are an idiot. Period.

[–]veryhappyguy 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

This will be my final comment on this matter.

Such societies exist in Western countries as well. They exist within more insular religious communities. Sure, you're free to leave the community and its standards, but you loose practically all you have by doing so.

Such communities exist everywhere, even in the largest cities of the West.

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

This will be my final comment on this matter as well. You are dreaming. You should ask yourself if you are trying to convince us, or yourself. If you want to get married then STFU and do it.

But you guys don't want to just get married. You want us to join you in your misery, which is where I take offense. Push that crab bucket shit somewhere else. Marriage is a fucking scam, through and through.

[–]AureliusThunderkok0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Without endorsing the motives of those who sent you, I thank you for your service.

[–]ISODAK-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

To those saying "thank you for your service", aren't we in TRP a little wiser than that?

Service happens when the consumer voluntarily exchanges their money for expected value of the goods or services. Mechanics, waitresses, cooks, etc... these people serve me, and I willingly pay them.

Am I offered the option of paying for military "service"? No. Do they provide any benefit to me? Considering there are no threats to US soil, no. You could argue some minor indirect benefits, but you could also argue indirect harm in that US military action overseas fuels anger against us.

So if a profession provides little/no benefit, costs a ton (US spends 3x more on military than #2 China), and payment is not voluntary, how can it be called service? Call it for what it is.

Sorry you got duped at my expense. Glad you got some good out of it.

[–]Thorgusta0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is what it is man, I don't try to be bitter about it. It's just a supportive thank you someone acknowledging the struggles I've undertaken so they don't have to. There's no need for any of that.

[–]ISODAK0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm not saying you should be bitter, just that TRP is about acknowledging the truth in all things.

"So they don't have to"? That's precisely my point. You didn't have to, and neither did anyone else.

"That's no need for that"? Am I in the wrong sub? if I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong, but I'm not sure why there would ever be no need for the truth.

[–]Thorgusta0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Idk man right and wrong on a matter like this isn't so black and white. And I'd rather save that discussion for a post more geared towards this let's just leave it at that

[–]NeoreactionSafe-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

My father died too when I was in my teens.

Authentic widows with actual husbands that literally died tend to still be down to earth traditional women. Over time they gradually degenerate and catch up with the overall culture, but they are much better mom's that divorced mom's who have accelerated degeneracy.

So be thankful your mother was a widow.

[–]Thorgusta1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Idk she's in her late 40s still unmarried no boyfriend but time will tell

[–]NeoreactionSafe0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My mother remarried after all the kids were out of the house. (60 years old)

They were married 10 years then he died.

She's now 80 and near the end of her life too.

[–]Thorgusta0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sounds like an upstanding woman

[–]forevereighty90 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wow man. Good for you on every part. I would love to see more posts from you. I too needed to learn to distinguish what I like and enjoy from here and be my own man. I prefer a LTR and to want marriage one day. I know with the skills and ideals from here I can make sure I steer my ship with my woman.
