Presently Recently, while reading about war brides, something occurred to me.

When I used to travel more, I noticed many foreign women working very hard to land American men. At first, it felt like these guys were taking advantage of vulnerable poor women from third world countries who were desperate to come to the US.

In the Philippines, for example, military men are prime targets for local women. In fact, just about any Russian, Chinese, or other "mail order bride"/dating service is analogous to conquering soldiers taking local women as their brides.

Now one can make the case that these are not war brides in the strictest sense - but the motivation is the same: Hook up with a more powerful (Western, but often American) man, get him to commit, go to the US with him, have babies, push him to get your family to the US too, and file divorce once the legal system is sufficiently to their advantage... then sit back and prosper. In the military this is at epidemic proportions.

These women can be seen as tremendously disloyal by their local men; but that is a bit too simple and not the whole story. These women are essentially conquer the "conquering" men, not the other way around. Their men lose the war, but these women win in the most insidious and devastating way a person can. Add nationalist pride, fear, resentment, and desperation to AWALT, Hypergamy, and duplicity and you have a potent mix. These things are all in sharp focus for these women.

I watched a very disturbing documentary not too long ago - Seeking Asian Female. I felt ill after watching it. The level of cluelessness of these men was astounding. It changed everything I thought about this dynamic of mail order brides, Westerners seeking foreign submissive women, and War Brides - it is all essentially the same.

The women are ultimately the predators. The product being sold is not the women, but the men.
