I personally hate ultimatums and when people give me them, it says something about their character. Your choices are to either ignore the ultimatum at which point she will either accept your deflection or move on. You could also accept her ultimatum and become 'serious' with her. This would undoubtedly put you in a position of vulnerability. Whatever you do, make sure it's on your terms.

She's trying to lock you down. Don't do it. One of the fundamental ideas of plate theory is that plates fall off and break. This one may be about to do just that. Hold frame and reiterate what you said initially, you're not looking for anything serious. Either she will stay or she will leave and the world keeps on turning.

I found 3 months is about the time when a plate expires, at least consistently. Sure, you can work on your game and frame to make plates last longer, but the point is they're not meant to last. So don't sweat the small stuff here too much.

Stop wasting your time on "trying to work out her motivations" because that's just an emotional reaction. Hit the gym, go out with buddies, buy a new toy, go on a weekend trip, whatever to distract you. It's okay to feel some loss when you've accepted a plate is gone, but don't let it weigh you down.

You must decide by yourself if you want a serious relationship with her, not her, especially not after an ultimatum, and especially not with that kind of sincerity (she sleep with another guy meaning she hasn't really submit to you). I'd say her that i'm fine with the relationship like it is and go no contact, waiting for her to reach me (and don't care if she don't).

So what happened is that you saw her too frequently. That caused the emotional attachment in her. When I was in my early 30s I was doing a similar thing, spending a bit too much comfort-time with FwBs. It starts to feel a bit like a relationship, feelings are involved, etc.

If you see eachother once a week (occasionally twice) and sometimes less, this won't happen.

The easiest way to handle is is by seeing more women.
