If you look at a map of how California counties voted and drew a line vertically down the middle of the State, the west coast voted dem and the rest voted repub so you would only have to split it in two lengthwise and split the electoral points accordingly.

I support you rejecting the Fed though. But it won't happen, because any GDP is part of the federal system, and the fed will make life hell for them for withholding. It won't allow travel, it won't allow cheap exports, nor imports, and California wouldn't be able to militarily resist if it wanted to and had to. The fed also won't tolerate withholding agriculture and natural resources (that it claims supreme dominion over, above California's authority).

Your leaders will be threatened into complacency, if they even genuinely consider anything at all in the first place. Plus it's filled with commies who will balk when it's time to walk the walk. Cali will be groveling to come back within a year if they were left to do it.
