Now this just seems dangerous. "Men tend toward extremes" is the reason you give?

Males tend towards extremes. This is true of all mammals. Height, weight, IQ, spatial ability.... if you can measure it, men have larger standard deviations.

For example, IQ has an average of 100 and a (gender neutral) SD of 15. At just 120, the ratio of men to women is 2:1. At 170, it's 30:1. The same is true at the other end.

This is biological fact. No amount of "social engineering" will "fix" this.

Do you, and by extension TRP, not believe in systemic gender oppression continuing to be rampant though society?

1) Please enumerate any government-granted rights which men have and women do not have in equal or greater levels.

2) Please enumerate any government-enforced responsibilities which women bear which men do not bear in equal or greater levels.

Is the 1st mate not subservient to the captain? I am not sure why this answer started off with "no".

Because women are not subservient to men, women are subservient to their captain. Not all men are all women's captains. She gets to choose her captain.

Is your answer an explanation of why you feel women are useless after 30?

We didn't say useless, we said not attractive.

while the women take her husband/SO having slept with so many women as desperate and lowering his ability to bond? It seems arbitrary and like an unsubstantiated double standard. Why do you feel it isn't?

Because men aren't women. Men don't lower their ability to bond via having sex. Women do. You seem to be poisoned with equality disease (thinking men and women are equal unless "proven" otherwise) when in reality men and women ARE DIFFERENT unless demonstrated to be the same.

While I agree then there are men at the extremes, the connotation of your argument seems to be that this is reasoning that men are superior. Maybe it isn't your point, tone is difficult to pick up on in text.

It's that the superior will be men. And, due to hypergamy, women look up and not down. They want and expect superior men.

The bottom men generally get flushed down the drain of society, so there's less of them.

Right, I don't think the government is playing gender favorites, but society/societal norms certainly is/are

Both are, and both favor women. Government because women control 55% of the vote, society because society sees women as less disposable as men and therefore treats women's concerns as greater than men's.

"And that kind of discriminatory behavior really boxes women in, so we all get penalized because people fear that women are going to leave the workplace," Hill says.

Fifty fucking percent of women leave the full time workforce not but 10 years after graduation. Of fucking course businesses make decisions with this in light. They're not stupid. They exist to make money. Training someone who has a 50/50 chance of leaving is a bad risk and anyone who's capable of cause/effect thinking can see this.

"She gets to choose her captain." What? Does this make it better?

Yes. She can choose no captain if she so desires, but then she has to pay the price of not having a captain. Most women want a captain. Women desire to be lead.

There seems to be more evidence that they are similar than so vastly different.

Such as?

if you even want to acknowledge that there isn't enough evidence to make a conclusion either way

No, there's plenty of evidence, and it points towards the only difference bigger than "male or female" is "alive or dead"

which side do you think is more beneficial to humanity?

The side that's been building civilization for thousands of years, and that we've watched societies die every time we were stupid enough to think men and women were more similar than different.

"Sex and Culture" by J.D. Unwin. We've tried equality before. It's always failed.

  • "So would the accusation "men overwhelmingly come in two categories..." have been more accurate? If you are arguing that this accusation can be honestly answered with a "no" and isn't true, why not have charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot groups? Why not do away with groups? Especially groups as clearly favored as alpha and beta? (it seems like gold and silver, winners and losers, at least from an outsider)."

It's not a clear distinction between alpha and beta. Alpha and beta are not two classes, they are different groups of traits everybody has. Sometimes the Uber-betas are also called omegas, so there you have it. It's just easier to differenciate between alpha and beta.

  • "Now this just seems dangerous. "Men tend toward extremes" is the reason you give? Do you, and by extension TRP, not believe in systemic gender oppression continuing to be rampant though society? From the glass ceiling, to unequal pay, to the-ability-to-get-pregnant's effect on the hiring process all the way to which toys are being marketed to which child's gender? Do you agree that this happens, but deemphasize, or disagree that any of that is a problem? What great female and male qualities are you talking about that were ruined by the feminist movement? Seemed like an interesting statement, but I am not sure which qualities you mean."

If there is a systemic gender opression, it's against men, not women. You might find opression against women in countries like india, pakistan or whatever, but most certainly not in the western world. If you're looking for examples for that, just visit /r/mensrights. They discuss nothing else there. Which toys are marketed to which gender? Biological differences between males and females are a fact, if you like it or not. Unequal pay is a myth btw, just google it.

  • Why didn't this answer begin with a firm "no"? Is your answer an explanation of why you feel women are useless after 30? You reference Marie Curie as "more important" to humanity than any man or women you have met. She was born in November of 1867, and won a Nobel prize in December of 1903. She was 36. She always won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911 at 44. Just curious as to what you meant by your answer.

What he meant, wasn't that she was useless, but unattractive as a partner after age 30, since men (unlike women) don't look for status in their potential partners, but primarily youth/beauty.

  • Some people are polite and some are not. Some people are irrational and some are not. It seems to assume a pattern about someone's beliefs or actions based on race, gender, nationalism or sexual orientation is elitism. I take this as a near fundamental injustice. Would you say that TRP is elitist in a belief of sexism, but you feel that elitism can be justified?

Once more, fundamental biological differences between men and women exist, if they fit into your ideology or not. What you're saying is basically: "Saying monkeys and humans are different is elitism. There are some stupid monkeys and some stupid humans, hence there isn't a difference."

  • Come on. Why wouldn't a man take a bunch of men having slept with his wife/SO as a part of pre-selection and be stoked so many guys found her sexy while the women take her husband/SO having slept with so many women as desperate and lowering his ability to bond? It seems arbitrary and like an unsubstantiated double standard. Why do you feel it isn't?

Simple: Preselection does not have any effect on men. That's because what men are primarily interested in (youth/beauty) is something that's completely obvious. Women are more interested in status/money/self-respect, and these traits are often not as obvious, hence preselection plays and important role. (If all these other women wanted him, he's obviously awesome).

Search the sub for more info.

  • But there is a mass consensus that this should happen before LTR or marriage? And never for women?

The mass consensus is, that every man should do whatever fucking suits him. No, never for women. Of course they can do as they please too, but they shouldn't complain about it in the end (we have countless examples like "I'm 37 now, I've had sex with 200 men and now nobody wants me anymore"). (Example: http://www.reddit.com/r/asktrp/comments/1vg7vx/do_i_have_any_chance_of_meeting_a_good_guy/) Keep in mind: This subreddit isn't about dogma or ideology. It's about biological reality and how to make the most of it.

  • So how fun below looks (youth/beauty) are other traits like sense of humor, intelligence, and personality traits? TRP seems to clearly place looks above all else, but surely these other traits play some part.

When it comes to "what are men interested in?", you have to differenciate. There are differences between what a guy is looking for.

  • Relationship/Marriage/anything long term: She has to be hot, she has to be intelligent/funny/able to cook/good mother/whatever

  • Sex: She has to be hot

Notice the difference? When it comes to actually having sex with a woman, what does a man think about? (I'll don't know if you're a guy or not, so I'll use myself as an example).

Imagine I have a big ass bed in front of myself, with a lot of women in it, and they want to have sex with me. I know nothing about them. With which of them am I going to have sex?

I'll have sex with all of the hot ones. Okay, let's be honest. It won't only be the hot ones, but also the ones that are not ugly. Not being ugly is all it takes for a man to want to have sex with a woman.

This example doesn't work the other way around though (at least not in general, sure there are some women that would handle the situation exactly the same) since to a woman, attraction is about much more than just looks.

At least the guys in this sub have much MUCH higher expectations when it comes to an actual relationship. I'm thinking: "This girl wants me to give up every other girl for her, is she really that awesome so I'm willing to do that?" And of course, intelligence, personality and all that plays a huge role in that decision, but: She can be the smartest, funniest girl in the world but I'd never want to be with her if she was ugly.

  • Alright, so you obviously are not calling women monkeys, but I am a bit disturbed that you feel that this is an accurate simile to what I was saying. Human and monkeys are CLEARLY different. I am arguing men and women do not have that level of huge gap between actions, beliefs, desires and entitlements. Do you feel men and women are as different as humans and monkeys?

You actually seem to want to understand our theory, and I appreciate it. Most folks don't bother, so kudos for your will to try. I believe that men and women are as different as humans and monkeys, yes. There are certain differences we'll never overcome, no matter how hard we try, just like a monkey won't ever be able to fly a plane. I could give you some examples, but you have to look around in the sub, we see numerous examples every day.

  • "Women are more interested in status/money/self-respect" Man...that just eats me up. Some women are sure, and some men want to marry rich women. This ideology to reduce relationships with women into a chess board seems impersonal, cold, and ultimately doomed from real and honest connection.

That exact thought is what a lot of TRP newcomers really struggle with, since this goes against everything they've ever been told. Once more, the devil is in the detail: Some men might want to marry rich women, but they won't be attracted to them if they're ugly. Women are able to actually be attracted/love/whatever you want to call it an ugly, old, fat man, as long as he's rich/has a high status.

  • "every man should do whatever fucking suits him. No, never for women." Do you see? Men can do what they want and it's good. Women should do what men want them to do. It seems poisonous. What do you view as the role of women in society?

You cut out my last sentence. As I've said, TRP is about what reality is like, it doesn't deal with how we feel about that. The point here is, that actions have consequences, and that you have to live with them. If you're a man and want to sleep around, then fine, do that. If you want a relationship, then fine, do that.

If you're a woman and want to sleep around, then fine, do that. If oyu want a relationship, then fine, do that. BUT do not complain about the consequences of your actions. Thanks to biology, men and women have different agendas when it comes to mating. Act according to them and you'll be fine. If you do not act according to them (as modern day sluts do) you'll have to pay the price for it.

Make no mistake: Most guys in this sub love sluts and why wouldn't we? We're usually the guys who have the most sex with them. So when we say: Women shouldn't be sluts, we're just saying: It's not according to what a woman should do to reach her evolutionary goal in life, which leads to unhappiness. Of course that double standard might seem poisonous to you (And these things are once more exactly what a lot of newcomers struggle with, and we all had to overcome that (myself included)). But that's just how it is.

From my point of view it's like this:

  • The world works a certain way, and it does not conform to what I think is right or wrong
  • I can't change that
  • I can either work with it, or against it

  • But you create how the world works

I create how I react to it, but I don't create how it works. If I would, I would have lost my virginity at age 16, after telling a girl I hadn't even kissed I loved her, after taking her to the cinema, and paying for all her shit. After being too fucking shy to ever hold eye contact with her for more than a split second. We would have been together ever since and I'd have 6 children by now. We'd love each other until we die happily at age 120.

It doesn't work that way. That's not what girls want, and there is no way to ever change that. That's what I meant. Work with it or work against it. I chose to work with it and ever since I've made that choice my women problems are gone.

  • to respect the wishes of women as fellow human beings and active agents

Look at society today. Women have everything they ever wanted. They can vote, they get all our money after a divorce, men are as sensitive and caring as they've never been before. They get high paying jobs, there is a female quota in place for all kinds of shit, they have better grades. Are they happy? Of course not. We had a study on here a few weeks ago that showed that women have never been as unhappy as today.

What do we learn from that? Women don't know what they want and listening to what they think they want just fucks up everything. It makes you unhappy and it makes them unhappy, so why bother?

Why does this need to be a new thread.

women become useless by the age of 30

Women have a serious decline in fertility and attractiveness around 30, typically obvious when they're 35.

Why didn't this answer begin with a firm "no"?

That's the fucking problem, you expect to receive an answer that pleases you in every way. For you anything that deviates from your PC ridden speech is incorrect.

Why bother asking opinions to other people if what you really want is to hear something that agrees with you?

No. While plenty of people advocate plate-spinning, in which a man has multiple different casual sexual relationships, there is not a mass consensus that this should go on during an LTR or marriage.

But there is a mass consensus that this should happen before LTR or marriage? And never for women?

bullshit, head to asktrp and you'll find out that there was a guy who proposed to "spin her gf as a plate" he got called on his bullshit by a lot of guys. As for women, I don't see TRP guys putting burqas on women, they just advocate not giving up commitment to a girl that has many partners, you'd call it slut shaming, but I bet you wouldn't be as upset if some girl recommended other girl to not fuck guys who will spin her as a plate.

TRP ultimately gives women and men what they want, TRP advocates fucking girls who want to have fun, and be serious for girls that want to be serious ( and really serious, not putting a ring to a slut and then wonder why she cheated on you).

and some women want more respect than they are getting under this ideology

Why do you feel that women are being disrespected here? I have a girlfriend who I respect a lot, she adores being with me, finds me interesting, funny and attractive and most importantly she is not a whore and knows if she becomes one I'll just walk away. There is a RPWoman sub linked in the sidebar with a lot of cool insights from women and we are perfectly ok with that.

TRP disrespects sluts, that's true, but sluts are only women who were told that they shouldn't control their basic mating instincts, that fucking around was "empowering". TRP also disrespects betas who are men who were coerced into the idea of "equal genders", "you must be yourself"( as in never improve yourself).

Her finding you "interesting, funny and attractive" seems besides the point to many of your fellow TRPers

it isn't, I started lifting which made me more attractive ( my gf started touching my arms a lot more). I have more attitude, I pass her "shit-tests", I'm more outgoing. All these things are advocated here. I think you should lurk more here and AskTRP.

(Increasing the number of women I have slept with is not an improvement to me, but being able to recite the larger ideas of Kant's philosophy would be).

nor it's advocated here except in one case: the so-called oneitis, when a guy is being fucked around or manipulated by one girl and he refuses to see that there are other fishes in the sea.

it isn't discouraged either, it's natural male behavior.

[–]zed_0mega 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

sigh.

So would the accusation "men overwhelmingly come in two categories..." have been more accurate?

Alpha and Beta are labels assigned to traits exemplified by male actors within the sexual marketplace. Shorthand, we may refer to these actors by such a label if they trend toward one class of trait more than the other.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with SuperEgotisticalId's refutation of the false claim that TRP espouses "men are superior to women". If you want to talk about social issues, do that, but don't try to relate it to something entirely different.

Is the 1st mate not subservient to the captain? I am not sure why this answer started off with "no". Do you mean "no" as in not in EVERY way? In what ways do you feel women should not be submissive?

Read this. And this.

Why didn't this answer begin with a firm "no"? Is your answer an explanation of why you feel women are useless after 30?

Read through the comments on the original post, there is ample clarification.

Come on.

Men are typically not positively influenced by preselection. Women typically are. <-bottom of page 4

But there is a mass consensus that this should happen before LTR or marriage? And never for women?

Mass consensus doesn't matter - a man must make his own decisions about his life, pursuits, and beliefs. Spinning plates is a beneficial practice to some; others choose not to do so. Sexually promiscuous women tend to be less able to effectively pair bond after the promiscuity phase is over.

Look around for more than a few seconds. Read the sidebar material. Peruse the linked blogs. Your questions have been answered countless times, you just need to look around for the answers.

Alright, I read those two articles...first:

To submit to another human being is to yield or surrender (oneself) to the will or authority of another. Though some read that as “Yeah, a doormat!” I have to, in turn, ask them: are you a doormat when you follow your bosses commands at work?

Is this seriously how you view a relationship? As a boss/employee relationship? That you can just fire your girlfriend for not follow directions properly, and that her role is to do so?

I see by your clever use of copying and pasting you have the ability to seek out one small segment of an article and present it, sans context, to manufacture an argument. Surely you will rule the world with this skill!

Second: How would you feel if a man was being submissive to women? If submission is not "less" than the argument is that it is equal?

I would "feel" sorry for him, based upon my own perspective that masculinity manifests dominantly and femininity manifests submissively. I would "feel" averse to his company, because he would appear feminized to me. I would "feel" that he needs to grow a sack, and I might even tell him so if he were a close friend. However, what I would "feel" is irrelevant to the discussion. My thoughts on the matter are that he may live his life in whatever way he wishes, and it really doesn't affect me.

Furthermore: forget about equality. There is no such thing. Gather one thousand people in a room and assess their characteristics, and you will find that no two people are equal. Even more specifically: in a social marketplace, there is no such thing as contextual equality of power. In every given context, there will always be a hierarchy of social power. In a relationship of two people, there is also no such thing as equality. One partner will always hold more power in the relationship than the other. The Red Pill, as an informational resource, leads its adherents to conclude that it is in the best interests of the typical relationship for the man to hold the dominant position based on dominant masculine traits, and for the woman to hold the submissive position based on submissive feminine traits.

I am not seeing your next point... Bottom of page four:

Actually, you need to look a bit further down than that. I should have been more clear, the information demonstrating preselection begins on the very bottom of the page and is continued on the next. And I don't see how the presence of four traits within the context of two sex-specific Top Ten lists contradicts anything.

Skills will be different accordingly. While you assign value based on looks and strength/average IQ, I (and I think most other people that don't ascribe to game theory) assign value based on humanity.

You are conflating value and skills. Generally speaking men have the skills that are more suited to building out in the world whereas women have the skills more suited to building a home (not to be confused with building a house). Speaking in terms of value, both are equally important to civilization.

Not all people deserve respect. That is to be earned. However, all people deserve civility until they've demonstrated that they do not deserve it. And if someone, man or women, demonstrates that they do not deserve to be taken seriously, then why should people treat them as if they do?

Is this seriously how you view a relationship? As a boss/employee relationship? That you can just fire your girlfriend for not follow directions properly, and that her role is to do so?

You saw boss/employee and just got angry without thinking this through. Is the VP of a company someone who gets NO decision making capability, no leeway, and is treated like a slave? He got to that position because of his slave status? No, of course not. He got there because he worked hard and proved himself.

And yes, a guy can fire his girlfriend at anytime. If she does something that he disapproves of, of course he can fire her. Just as she can do the same to him. When it comes to commitment, it is usually the man who decides whom he will give it to. Does not the girl have to work to prove that she is worthy of this gift? If she is not worthy in his eyes, is it wrong to "fire" her? Of course, not. Just as in the same vein that a woman can decide to whom she will have sex with. Now, you are thinking that, the women choose commitment as well. Yes. She does and if the man doesn't measure up, she can choose not to commit. But, typically speaking, who proposes and why?

it means not basing who deserves what (happiness, respect, freedom from judgement, freedom in general) based on uncontrollable circumstances.

No one is talking about taking away happiness, respect, and freedom (freedom from judgement is silly. We ALL judge. It is part of being human). If a woman decides to go out and sleep with 50 guys, become a lawyer and to be generally very unpleasant, she is free to make those choices. Just as every man whom she comes into contact with is free to choose to not pay her attention because they do not find those attributes attractive.

When I say "equality", i mean in terms of showing this person respect as a human being. All human beings are equal in that they all deserve my respect, all deserve to be heard and taken seriously, and are equal in terms of how much their life is worth.

I can't agree. There is a baseline of consideration warranted on the basis of humanity, but I hesitate to equate it with "respect". This consideration is why it's predominantly taboo to eat the flesh of dead humans - we recognize ourselves as a step above other animals, and it seems horrifying or at least wrong and icky to consider doing this. You could call this consideration "respect", but I'd argue it's a different kind of respect - and then it just devolves into a semantic argument, which distracts from the central idea.

Specifically, though: not all deserve to be heard. Some are idiots, and allowing time to hear them is to waste time. I make that judgement for myself, in my own life; some people do not deserve the respect of being heard, from me. Likewise, not all are equal in terms of how much their life is worth. Not to me, and not to society. All those tired "who would you save, the homeless mentally handicapped man, or the brilliant scientist one day away from curing cancer" arguments serve to illustrate that we know this instinctively. It makes some of us uncomfortable, but we recognize that it's so. This worth is not inherent, it's contextual. As is my basis for giving my respect.

To move this line of thought back into terms of a relationship: my woman is worthy of my respect, because I have selected her based on my own standards for a mate. She is worthy of more respect than any woman I could have selected, but did not. She is worthy of a different kind of respect than am I, as the man that selected her to be my mate. It isn't that I'm arguing for a difference in inherent value; I'm saying there is no inherent value. The respect is there, but it is a different kind of respect.

So would the accusation "men overwhelmingly come in two categories..." have been more accurate? If you are arguing that this accusation can be honestly answered with a "no" and isn't true, why not have charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot groups?

Somewhat off the point, but you're conflating the greek alphabet with nato phonetic.

"Alfa, Bravo, Charlie" are used because alphabetical letters sound too similar.

E.g. "V" sounds like "B", "D", etc. That sounded confusing over radio and other media with transmission static, and nato phonetic helps with that.

The greek lettered terms used here are classic ethological ones. "Beta" isn't even used that much these days, and others "gamma", "omega", etc. even less.

No problem. Just clearing up misunderstanding. I otherwise agreed with the sentiment conveyed there. The terms aren't too important to me personally.
