Now to address your question. If you do something because you want to do it, it's RP. If you do something because someone else tells you to or it's a power game, that's BP. The only caveat is if you are a subordinate in a company, then you have to be subservient by nature of your position, but outside that you should only do things you want to do. Assuming you are a man biologically, and not still a teenage kid that needs guidance from their parents about life. If you are still a teenager and your parents aren't dysfunctional, you should cede some decision making to them and gain your independence gradually.

It's not about the action itself that determines if it's BP or RP but the truthfulness in that action. BP is inherently idealistic and delusional, so to make an action RP you simply need to be holding yourself to the truth and understand WHY you are doing what you are doing. If you do something with an ulterior motive or agenda such as hoping being nice will lead to pussy/promotion you're being manipulative with a weak frame, BP. If you talk total shit to make a sale, you're being BP again. If you flirt with a girl and tell her you want to fuck her, you made your intentions clear - RP. Convincingly making a sale by listing the pros and cons of a product with no fluff? RP.

Now this works on the flipside too. If you care about the person who makes demands on you to report in to them and you believe they are genuinely concerned and not trying to undermine you by making you report to them, then you should agree to do so in order to alleviate their worry/concern. That's love. That person cares about you. In the examples you gave ask yourself if the person saying these things to you cares about you? If they don't, it's probably powerplay, or simply you think they don't care when they do. Those examples are something your mother would say/do.

However if it's a power game or some bullshit, then you say "Haha why the fuck would I do that?" or "No, you're OK" how you gauge your response is dependent on your relationship with the person in question, you have to analyse and discern what the social paradigm between the two of you is, there's no blanket correct answer, you have to adapt to different relationships and change your behaviour accordingly depending upon the person and the manipulation at play, if any.

Be true to yourself and you will be credible. Do things because you want to do them for yourself, not because you feel you have to do them due to social pressure. You can't be your own man if you let others dictate how you live your life. Answer to nobody but yourself, make yourself accountable by holding yourself to certain goals and objectives and take responsibility for when you both succeed and fuck up. Make yourself worthy of your own validation, find reasons to be proud of yourself and you have the trappings of what constitutes manhood, power (from self improvement) and credibility (from valuing the truth above all else and holding yourself accountable.)

Apart from improving your life with things like lifting and learning things, it has to start mentally - by having a mind of your own and not letting people boss/push you around. Learn to be stubborn and argue your point. You need gumption, a spine. However, you also need to be able to tell the difference between someone asking you to do something as a power game and someone whom is asking you to do something because they care about you. I'm a little confused on the context. Who is asking you to check in? I've never had anyone ask me to check in with them. If I'm hanging out with a buddy or on a date, that's just not something the person or people I'm with would do.

I've asked girls to shoot me a text that they got home safely, but never the other way around.

Anyway, to answer your question - I don't think it's a RP/BP thing. I think it's about maturity. If letting someone know you're okay puts them at ease, then do it. Don't be a dick.

That comment sounds like something a parent would say to their child.

One of the comments I read on here discussed how successful relationships are the ones when the woman sees you as a father figure.

Okay, maybe not see but feels. As in; she relies on you, you're the authority, and provide emotional support.

"I'll be fine, you don't have to worry about me" is how I react to that.

There's a lot of feel good stuff here. Don't for a second let anyone tell you that a tinge of machavelianizm and manipulation is blue pill. It's the motivation for such actions determines whether they are blue or red pill.
