Xsplat is noted for being more of a "lover" type, and this goes against conventional pick up advice. He's one of the few in the "manosphere" to espouse such views.

And it makes sense why you shouldn't tell newbies to get too emotionally attached. It makes total sense why learning to find validation through one's own efforts and accomplishments is encouraged, as opposed to finding it in a woman.

If this happens right when you're starting out, you don't even have the tools to do jack shit (assuming you're starting from the ground up). And before you know it, you're getting your sorry ass dumped, 'cause you're too needy.

With this out of the way...

When is something "beta" not beta? For e.g, that thread at RVF where some dude ran after a girl who was got into an argument with him, grabbed her hand, talked it out quickly, and eventually banged her. Then he makes a thread about it and asks "Was this beta?"

Or, is it beta if you talk to her on the phone? I mean...if she's away, and you have time to speak to her, then that's time you should be using to pick up other women. Options! And this is all well and good, and while it puts you in a position where you really cannot even begin to care, it also reduces the amount of intimacy/love you'll feel (see: xsplat post called "Romantic Libertine" linked in the initial post).

How do you go about building more intimacy, if that's what you want? How do you balance being a "clown" (think RSD style aggressive game, nothing wrong with that, it's great, but I'm looking at it from another perspective) with more intimate stuff? Think Hank Moody/Zan Perrion (refer to this thread).

The main kind of outer game that seems to be espoused seems like it's been evolving from stuff that the likes of De Angelo (way back with Cocky Funny), RSD, and a bit later, Heartiste, have been writing about. Again, this shit works...but it's not necessarily congruent with all men's respective styles. Of course, aspects of it can be adapted, but that kind of game will not necessarily be the foundation of say, the poet who wants to be a player.

Some thoughts I've been toying around with. Figured it could stir some interesting discussion.
