Disclaimer: I'm fully aware that this is basic knowledge. I first heard it from Owen Cook on RSD's Foundations. The problem is that I see the term being used on blogs, here and on seddit so much that I no longer believe my definition is accurate, and I have a feeling that I'm not the only one.

Definitions of shit tests are usually along the lines of: Certain behaviors women do to tell if you're a real man.

Could someone, or a discussion, do a better job at:

  • Defining what a shit test is and what isn't?

  • Give a more specific description of a shit test?

  • Commonalities or patterns you found in different shit tests?

  • A more detailed reason why women do them? (Doesn't have to be fancy, a simple premise-conclusion type of explanation could do)

  • Examples of how responses to different shit tests change the course of an interaction or relationship? And why, in your opinion it went one way but not the other?

There's no need to answer all questions. Just weigh in with whatever you feel like you can contribute to others with. I think a discussion about a basic but a little vague concept benefits this community.
