When I first stumbled this subreddit back in early 2016 at the age of 15, I was completely in shock at how "sexist" and "un-gentlemen" this subreddit was. I had a feeling this subreddit was where men use women for sexual pleasure, retaining the mindset of the past. This was when I used to be a liberal, I would support feminist rights and respect stay-at-home fathers. I was completely against the hijab (I'm an atheist from a Muslim background) as I had viewed it as a symbol of oppression, when in reality it's a piece of fucking cloth, it's a cultural clothing. It's neither oppression or liberating.

Fast forward to late 2016s, I had serve oneitis and spent hours and hours looking for help on various subreddits (including this one) and tried to connect the dots of whether she liked me or not (as we know each a little bit) I was about to do the most beta action I could (which was to send her a postcard with lyrics of a love song to hospital as she got hit by a car, thanks goodness for that she got hit because she died if she hadn't, I would've asked to speak to her in private and have a talk with her on whether she would like to be in a relationship with me, by the time she came back, the oneitis I had for her had disappeared and I now see that she isn't THAT special as I thought she was).

This subreddit is very militaristic, and that's a great thing about it. No bullshit, straight to the point and solutions, although drastic IMO, very effective.

Now? I'm living the life. I talk to everybody, my grades are improving tremendously. I honestly DGAF about anyone that DGAF about me.

One thing I learnt on my oneitis adventure is that life is like a car race, you must never steer the wheel too much. Instead, if you wish to win then you must focus on the car and the parts itself.

And it's true, so many people end up being beta orbiters because they steer the wheel too much (chasing the girl, in our case) instead of focusing on the engine, the wheels and the shape of the car (improving yourself).

What I want to say, before leaving is to live your life for yourself. If there's a cute girl you like, don't spend more than necessary to get her cause that's what betas do.
