Shit tests don't stop fellas. So I've been in this awesome relationship with this woman for a few months and I've successfully maintained my frame throughout, sometimes questioning my stance, but the results were always in my favor.

So one night we are laying in bed and we get into some silly spat over something stupid. She's a self proclaimed feminist and we disagreed over male/female roles in society or something rather. We're both a bit down because we seldom argue and when we do, we resolve it right away. In this case I refuse to see her side completely and she is miffed. She has a glass of water on her side of the bed and she takes a drink and and then hands it to me and says "here, take this" She doesn't look at me but pretends she's busy on her laptop. I just look at her like she's crazy and say "no, why?" She says "there's no room on my side." I counter with "but that's where you got it from." I'm thinking that this could be an innocent request since her side is cluttered, but my spidey senses are tingling. Anyway, I refuse to put the glass on my side and she clams up even more . I ignore her, roll my back to her and just fall asleep.

The next morning I can tell that she's still upset about the glass because she doesn't wake me with kisses or greetings. So I go to her and say.."are you butthurt about that glass thing? Get the fuck out of here. That's stupid." I lighten the mood, she relents, and admits that the glass thing was silly but she says that I'm an asshole at times. I say "sure, whatever. If you think so"..and things are great afterwards.

So throughout the day I question whether or not the glass was a test and whether I had overreacted.

The answer came that night as we attended a party at a bar. In attendance was a beta who constantly sponsored one of her friends. Background on this guy. He comes running to her GF whenever she is in between guys or needs a friendly ear. He always pays for everything. I say that he's a poor chump being taken advantage of but she says, that he' s just a real good friend to her. He was buying drinks for everyone at this party. He offers a drink to my GF but she declines. She's already drunk.

Throughout the night my GF has been presenting the glass issue to her girlfriends to see what they think. Obviously the usual hamster answers. "I'm an asshole." I just smile and agree each time. So she proposes the scenario to the beta. He says "Well, I'm not so sure I would have put the glass on my side either."

Here's the kicker. My GF whispers in my ear afterwards and says to me: "Can you believe him? Who is he fooling? That sucker would have taken that glass, and built a whole new table for me to put it on."

Lo and behold she inadvertently revealed to me that the glass was a shit test. To me it meant "Since I couldn't get you to agree with me, let's see if I can get you to do something for me, which would mean that you have compassion for my situation. If you do, then your foundation is not that strong, and I can manipulate you."
