I recently read this article: https://www.davidsongifted.org/Search-Database/entry/A10554

Looking at the title, you might be one who thinks the article is useless for you. I do agree that it is a niche topic, but there are some concepts in there which are useful to anyone.

One of the key ideas of the article is that when one's vision of their ideal world or ideals hugely contrast with the real world, one experiences a discomfort, a tension, a certain from of depression. This is called disintegration, and it is key to developing yourself.

There are generally three responses to disintegration: On one extreme, you can remain in disintegration for a very long time, not moving into a better state, and being unable to go back to your old state, becoming more and more depressed and negative and in the long run eventually succumbing to either suicide or psychosis (extreme examples of this include Eliot Rodgers and Alek Minassian)

The second response is simply returning back to the status quo, or falling back to your old level.

The third response is called reintegration, in which your belief systems evolve and you move to a higher level.

The article also goes over various "coping strategies", which can be applied to coming to terms with the red pill.

The article is quite long, and summaries don't really do it justice. I'd love to hear some thoughts on this and its applications to TRP.
