Well you sound like you should be treating her more like a child to find the happiness you seek. Imagine if a child drew a stick picture of daddy and wrote 'baby' under it because they are bad at letters.

Do you point out their failure or praise them? What you're doing is hurting her feelings.

My ex wife used to do this shit.

She went to Purdue University. She changed majors four times. Her parents paid for everything. She finally majored in English.

She worked at Borders. Had a fierce loyalty to this place.

She thought I was an idiot and when I would use less than commonplace words, she said "Is that the new word you learned today?"

I'd reply that she was fat. She stopped after awhile.

I divorced her in 2010.

My sister suffers from this aswell. Heck some of my male friends are idiots about their own stupidity too. This doesn't belong on TRP I think :)

Once you understand what she is like, it is on you to control your reaction to her. Yes, all that stuff is what it is. But if you like 'the perks', maintain your goddamn frame under pressure.

"You don't care about my feelings" is only valid when you're dismissing her concerns. In this case,"You don't care about my feelings" means "I don't care about your logic" because she's the one using it to dismiss your concerns.

You inadvertently granted validity to her straw-man hamstering via your response - which, in and of itself, indicates emotional immaturity and an overly fragile ego (huge red flag). Demote her to a plate and look for a better woman.

Deal with it, I've gotten shit for having a larger than average vocabulary since I was 13 (now 24). Hell I even picked up a shitty nickname for my troubles. Don't stop or get mad, just tell her to ask you when she doesn't understand, its not a bad thing.

My wife acts like this sometimes and damn straight it is frustrating- for me, not for her. Are you absolutely sure you are not trying to 'show off' because correcting spelling and using polysyllabic lexicology can be irksome.
