In studies 1 and 2, upper-class individuals were more likely to break the law while driving, relative to lower-class individuals. In follow-up laboratory studies, upper-class individuals were more likely to exhibit unethical decision-making tendencies (study 3), take valued goods from others (study 4), lie in a negotiation (study 5), cheat to increase their chances of winning a prize (study 6), and endorse unethical behavior at work (study 7) than were lower-class individuals. I believe that these findings fit with known female preference for "Dark Triad" personalities (narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy). We know that women prefer men with social status, that social status is social power, and that the powerful lack empathy.

Unless you are a Philosopher/Ethicist utilizing a rational-deductive system to guide your behavior, you will rely on empathy to guide your interpersonal actions. But if you are not a Philosopher and have no empathy, you will pursue self-interest even at the expense of others.

But what if female hardwiring became cross-wired so that females no longer rationally pursue actual high-status males but instead pursue men who display merely the indicators of status?
