Check out Phoenix. The climate is amazing, and the sluts at ASU in Tempe are tan and available. I'll show you around. We have MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, The Super Bowl will be here next year, ASU and Grand Canyon University. Vegas is 4 hours away. We have casinos. 5 hours to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Texas is amazing, dude. Grab on to an opportunity in Houston or Dallas if you can. Austin has a lot of shit going on that's fun, as well. It is so different than Philly. My experience on the east coast has been not very meritocratic, but in TX it truly is about how much money you can bring in and how much value you can demonstrate and claim for yourself. If I were moving anywhere else, it would be Houston, Dallas, or Austin.

Texas is good place to live but it depends on what you want as its a big ass state that has multiple climates and terrains. First off unless your being offered mad bank you probably shouldn't head out towards West Texas. Nothing against El Paso (which is pretty nice) but there's not much going on out west.

Austin is a great place with tons of bars, college age women, great food and music. Really the only downside to Austin is muther fuckin I-35. Hate it with a burnin passion.

Houston is a great place to party in. Its been awhile since I've been down but I've always enjoyed it when I visited my kinfolks. There is a humidity problem that makes Houston feel like your walking through pea soup sometimes but it's Texas expect the heat.

Dallas is great but its the suburbs/small cities around it that make it better. The DFW area there's a ton of shit to do and look at. Plus 4 major sports teams, tons of restaurants,bars, clubs and for the most part its never as humid in Dallas as it is in Houston. Downside is that while there are some colleges around its not the college scene you'll find in Houston or Austin.

I forgot to mention San Antonio as well but I have not been in awhile. I would say its ok. There's a riverwalk and the Spurs and bomb ass Mexican food.

Despite the national view of everyone in Texas being gun toting conservatives in Texas, most Texans are good friendly people and as long as your not a douche-bag to Texans they'll treat you well. As much as I hate to admit it, King of the Hill is a very accurate representation of Texas life so if you're a fan of that show, you'll probably love it there.

In the DFW metroplex, there are a lot of pretty girls with long hair and great bodies, and for the most part, women are aware that they should look good. I moved down here from CO, and was amazed at the difference in quality. There, 4 out of 10 women are bangable. Here, 8 out of 10 chicks who appear under 30 rate at least a 7. However, it's a conservative Christian culture for the most part, so expect a fair amount of white-knightery. Cost of living is great, the people are nice, but it's also hot as hell in the summer, and Texas drivers are atrocious. Do what you will.

I grew up in Dallas, was born in Houston and spent a great deal of time (and will be flying down there soon for SXSW) in Austin.

Austin is like a warmer version of Portland. "Keep Austin Weird."

Dallas is like a nicer version of LA. "How bout them Cowboys?!"

Houston is like a less cramped version of Philly. "281-330-8004."

San Antonio is like a Mexican version of New Orleans. "Remember the Alamo."

Cool Smaller Towns:

Denton - Close to Dallas

San Marcos - Close to Austin

Corpus Christi - On the Gulf

Ft. Worth - Close to Dallas

Avoid: Suburbs, outlying cities, the country, anything near the border.

You will find hot women in all of these cities. They'll likely be bleach blonde, playing "keeping up with the Jones's," and raised to be dumb and unquestioning. That, and possibly incredibly entitled, and self-focused. Either way, there is no short supply on the dating websites, and you'll find the major cities are all progressive enough, but not to the point of being feminist hellholes (yet).

Work wise, Texas is the place to be. You will find a job here and fast.

But Dallas blows as there is nothing worthwhile to do and most of the dudes here are blue pill as fuck hence the proliferation of strip clubs. When you meet a chick, check out the escort section of dallas backpage, because there is a high chance that she strips, has stripped in the past, or sells pussy. Sugar babies are common here as well, don't buy a dallas bitch anything.

Have fun trying to find dudes to hang out with. Most of them have been living with their GF since the end of high-school, so a lot of dudes 25 and older already have kids and no money. All they do is bitch about child support as well because if you aren't married and you and a chick have a kid, the state instantly put you on child support even if you live together and she doesn't want it.

Dallas boasts being racially diverse, but outside of common areas everyone sticks to their own. If you are Black, White people wont hang with you, period. If you are White, Black people wont hang with you and Latinos will suck up to you, but talk bad about you behind your back in Spanish.

You cant buy liquor after 9pm. Nor on Sunday except at bars.

There are more burbs than city, and anything south of Downtown is a post-apocaliptic hellhole AKA Oak Cliff/South Dallas.

There are a lot of fat women. A LOT.

Dallas boasts having the highest number of restaurants in the nation, but they are all variations of the same shit: sushi/Asian, BBQ, steaks, Fast food hamburgers, Tex-Mex/Tacos and shit, buffets, and India food. Try finding a legit Italian or French restaurant or a non-chain pizza... Won't happen.

You have to own a car here. Mass transit here is piss-poor. The only thing you can rely on are the trains, and they stop running at 12am. So if you want to barhopping past midnight you have to drive, and TX boasts the highest DWI/DUI rate in the nation because of it. Also if you get a ticket and forget about it/don't pay it on time, the cops will come to your house a/or job looking for you to put you in jail for a $50 ticket. If this happens, you will instantly be fired.

The night life is stagnant as no really good concert tours come to Dallas except the Really big commercial artists and Country music.

A lot of Texans have never left TX because it's so big, so they have a disdain towards people from out of town and they are very cliquey. If you didn't graduate high school here, you will never be fully accepted by Dallas dudes.

I've lived here for six years, and with the exception of like one 50-something year old guy that I get together with to BBQ, all of the people that I hang with are from other cities, and they all have the same feelings about it here as I do.

My sugesstion: go to Chicago, New York, Miami. It might cost more to live there but starting out fresh out of school, you might want to live somewhere more live, and you will make more per annum than you will here.

Texas is where you come to settle down with a bleached-blonde fat woman that smokes cigarettes and drinks moscato.

It's a sweltering, sprawling hellhole with very little to do and huge chunks of the state firmly entrenched in ass-backwards, draconian levels of conservatism. So pretty much like most places in the Midwest. Then again, having lived briefly in Philly, I can understand why you'd want to be anywhere but Philly.

Also you could hit up the Permian Basin (Midland-Odessa region) and get involved in the fracking going on there. I keep hearing all these stories about unskilled laborers being able to gross $80k before taxes annually in Midland. Then again, you'd pay a lot for housing, due to the shortage.
