You might try turning off the electronic devices.

It's winter for where I live so it's not great to be outside much, so I'm on the internet more, but once Spring comes I'll get outside as much as possible.

Even in winter you should go for walks and ride bikes, or generally clear your head.

The trick with breaking habits isn't to stop doing something, but to do something else.

Fill your life with other commitments. Go to the gym, study for an exam, take a class. Your addiction is a sign you don't have enough going on with your life.

Sort out your depression with medication, cold showers, lifting and cardio. If you are watching porn, cut that out, as red pillers we live in the real world (the irony that I'm saying this on an internet forum).

If you want to be hard core about it, recruit a friend, hand him your smart phone every day, and let him view your browsing history.

.

I'm happy to see cold showers mentionned in this post. I encourage OP to take those daily.

If you ask for help from someone else, you are not ready and you dont wanna truly do it. You are looking for that shortcut, easier way, because you dont wanna work that hard for it. First you must convice yourself you wanna do it, because its not good enough for you, not because your family/friends whatever said so. From there, its smooth sailing.

Nike has the best line for this: Just do it.

unplug for a week straight. your brain will figure out something else for stimulation. its important your devices are fully accessible the whole time so you don't fall back into obsession after your week of internet celibacy. also I'd wager its a major source of your depression. might clip two birds with one rock

Four years back I was in a similar situation. I used to watch TV all day (Even shows like Ellen, Hannah Montana :) ) and play COD online for the most part of the night (needless to say I was unemployed and depressed). The thing which made me come out of that situation was 'embarrassment'. I felt embarrassed to borrow money from friends/roommates to pay rent and bills. Once I got a new job I moved to a new place. It helped a lot, I also used to turn of my phone and laptop before 11pm to give me just enough time to recollect what has happened during that day and plan for the next day.

start small -- cut back to 7 hours then 6 and set 5h as your long term goal.

Get your bike and go somewhere interesting. Check google maps if there's a lake or something nearby, people usually hang out in such places. And if you're thinking you're out of shape, I got myself a bike and went out on a 15 mile run after gaining 40 pounds extra and doing nothing for a year. It was very hard the first time but the next time was a lot easier.

If you don't have a bike, get one. And don't overspend on it until you know how to spot a lemon, that's a mistake I made last year and now that I noticed some things (by almost getting seriously injured) I'm going to spend a lot of time in shops before my warranty goes out).

Get into a class or something and meet people, it sounds like you're still living at home so try to do something you'll have to learn anyway if you move out (cooking) or something that you can make money doing (languages or something).

Get in touch with people you used to hang out with in high school or something and spend some time outside the house and try to involve someone in the activities (you'll have someone to annoy you if you try to quit).

From there I'll sit on it from anywhere at a minimum of 8-16 hours every single day of the week.

don't you work?

I hate to blame my lack of self control on depression but I do feel it's a big part of the problem

Well don't your depression is a product of your behavior not the other way around.

Regarding the title. Like with every addiction you just remove yourself from the ability to do it. Get off the grid. You will go crazy for the first couple of days but then you'll feel like you regained control of 60% of your brain.(not joking, you hear, feel and think more). Go up to a cabin if you don't trust yourself at home. Get some reading material, it will be horribly boring for a couple of hour but as your brain adapts to the silence it will beg for even a couple of pages.

I have thought about this too i was talkin with a friend that a nice product to put in the market would be a PC laptop who could block all Porno content or other content you choose like Youtube too.(like buying it with these features with no way to acess porn or youtube)

I bet that would make millions.(iam not really a noob in this area so that probably exist already?).

With me i get so much more productive when i dont have a laptop at home. The thing is nowadays almost everything is done online so even if i try to live without one i need it for school, job etc,and end up wastin time with the entertainment part of it.

In the end of the day i think the internet is only good for people who arent adicted to it.In my personal opinion TRP transformation can come easier without internet.
