I'm curious to get some feedback on this (probably beginner-level) question since I've noticed different women react differently to timeliness during first dates and I'd like to hear people's opinions on this. I'm also sure each man reacts in his own unique way when a woman is late for a first date, so I'm curious to get that perspective as well.

Without getting into the specifics, I'm currently dating around and I've had this happen a handful of times over the past few months. For context, most of these dates happen at a neutral locations (e.g. bar, coffee shop, etc.). Normally I show up on time for first dates, however the majority of the time I have been 15-30 minutes late for the first date, the women have been more forward and easy to close towards the end of the night. This may be because "being late" has been an easy conversation tool to let the woman joke around with me with them suggesting I have to "make it up to them".

Normally I try and give the person a heads up if I'm running late due to work, life, etc. as a common courtesy. I'm not interested in having the other person think I'm not planning to show up if I've already verbally or through text communicated my intention to go on a date with them.

So how does a man being late influence the girl's mindset during a first date? Also, how do you feel when a women shows up late? Is it good, is it bad, is it relatively irrelevant since it's a first date? I'm curious to get some opinions!

TL;DR: When a man or woman shows up to a first date 15-30 minutes late, what is going through other person's mind and how will that frame impact the rest of the date and relationship?
