The old adage "never stick your dick in crazy" has proven true yet again - I'm prepared for ridicule, but here goes:

Back in February I was banging a girl I met on Tinder, for maybe 2 weeks, quickly realized she was unstable judging by her constant mood swings and how she almost immediately became the "clingy girlfriend" without ever being my actual girlfriend. After I grew sufficiently annoyed with her, she probably noticed, and texted me some melodramatic bullshit one night after dropping her off home, along the lines of "let's talk" - I responded instantly with "I don't think we need to - take care and good luck with everything" - and ghosted her. We parted ways, I never contacted her again, she never contacted me again.

Until today. Almost 3 months later.

I received a text from a number that wasn't saved in my contact list - realized rather quickly it was hers. It simply said "I'm getting an abortion Thursday, I'll let you know how far along I am and how much it'll cost" - as if she expects me to pay for this -- 3 fucking months later -- as if she really thinks I'm stupid enough to believe I'm the only dude she's fucked in the past 3 months, and that she hasn't had a period in 3 months and only now noticed she's pregnant! Keep in mind, this girl is 110lbs, not some land whale that would be able to keep a baby in their womb to term without ever noticing. So I smell bullshit.

What I imagine happened is she probably got banged by some other dude after me, most likely within the last month, got knocked up, and since that dude probably ghosted her too, she tried to test me like I'm some sap that'll just pay for her procedure cost with no questions asked.

Obviously I haven't replied to the text. But I've been thinking about this constantly all afternoon/night since getting the message. And my concerns are:

  1. What legal rights do I have here - can she force me to cough up the dough?
  2. How could she force me to pay if neither of us can prove who the father is? A prenatal paternity test is over a thousand dollars. I don't want to pay a single fucking cent for what is more than likely not even my spawn.
  3. Of course I blocked her number - should I unblock her and make contact for any reason?

I obviously feel like an idiot for asking this. My gut tells me she's trying to play me for a chump. Please, TRP, offer any advice you can, preferably from a legal standpoint. Am I fucked? What happens if I just pretend I never received her message and go on like this never happened?
