Sent you a PM a few months ago, and got a really long, prompt response that could've been a post in-and-of-itself.

Gonna order some Whey Protein off Amazon today, and you'll be getting a commission on it.

Thanks again for all the value you provide to this community.

Thanks bro. Keep the gains flowing!

Hey Illimitable Man,

I enjoy most of your work and wish you well with your crowd funding however:

Converse is the more grammatically used/understood form rather than conversate (which only sprang up in 1973). Converse is more facile as it has one less syllable. "Brevity is the soul of wit" as the Bard once said, so why use a lengthy word, when there is a more succinct one? This isn't just you, this is a lot of writers nowadays. Is there a particular reason for this other than artistic license?

Thanks buddy.

Is there a particular reason for this?

I use logic to plan the posts, but emotion to create the literary aesthetic. Conversate simply felt better to me than converse. So no, not in particular, but keen eye nevertheless. It seems I have a tendency to use less common word forms, and as I allude to in the grammar segment of the article, although I have improved, brevity isn't exactly my strong point. Good thing I wrote that section to cover my ass isn't it? Heh.

You did indeed have remarkable forethought to cover your arse in that respect ;) the fact that it's only the odd word that irks me in your posts honestly speaks volumes, I salute you. Godspeed!

This exchange made my evening .... thank you both

Yes, you could have more impact if you dumbed down you rhetoric to the eight-year-old level.

I like it just fine the way it is, though.

Thanks for the update. One note on monetization, based of what some of the industry leaders like Jon Morrow are saying: Don't worry about advertisement revenue. That's always going to be small, and ads will distract people when you want them to be fully immersed in your writing. The books are a good plan - creating products or services is the surest way to make money with a blog like this.

I loved the antibiotic nuke. That was you, right? One of my all time faves on this board. Thanks for your efforts, I'm a fan.

Yep, don't think they scrubbed my name from the credits for that one!

Thanks for your efforts, I'm a fan.

Proud to have you on board.

I love the stuff you write, man, and it has helped me improve my life a lot. Top notch. Will very likely help you fund your next essays.

It's as I stipulated in the article:

I’ve been writing a long time now for the red pill community for free. I haven’t run any advertisements or done any proper monetisation of the site (just a few Amazon links here and there, which produce pocket change, really.) I’d be pretty stupid not to capitalise on the success of my blog by refusing to monetise it out of some poorly fabricated ruse to seem saintly. Let’s be honest, I write about some pretty fucked up shit (I am alluding to dark triad theory here.) Nobody who reads my site imagines me to be anything close to saintly in the slightest, some even believe I am a psychopath (hilarious, actually) yet they appreciate what I do and enjoy reading what I write. Great, so why shouldn’t I get paid for that? Quid pro quo as the Roman’s said, or in English: “something for something,” indeed, a fair exchange of value. I provide value, I deserve value back.

I recently joined this community as well as recently started reading your articles. I have listened to as many episodes of the Black Phillip Show with Patrice O'Neal as I could find. That was intense; he knew his stuff.

Anyways, thanks for the articles. This community and sites like yours have helped me greatly.

I have listened to as many episodes of the Black Phillip Show with Patrice O'Neal as I could find. That was intense; he knew his stuff.

He was a late blooming natural who figured it all out for himself, growing up poor in the hood and getting sent to prison on an untrue accusation of rape, Patrice was given enough shit by life to seriously consider what the hell is going on. His humour and ferocity are admirable, although those very same things are what make him inaccessible to his detractors (he's an ape! he's crazy! blah blah.) People place a lot of value on delivery, his delivery makes him accessible to most men and anyone downtrodden, but not so much those who are privileged enough to have sensibilities and reject him on the basis he is morally inferior to them.

[–]monochrome_rainbow1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The ones doing the rejecting on the basis of morality, I think of blue pill, white knights.

The Beige Phillip show is also very good and was started by a good friend of Patrice who was on the Black Phillip Show.
