I was with a plate with similar friend groups for a month. She says let’s take a break and I consented and didn’t talk to her for 2 weeks. I start hearing bad rumors about me. She has been running her mouth and talking bad about me to my friends. She wanted to take a break, but still wanted me to talk to her and give her attention and when I didn’t, she started telling lies to save face. Both guy and girlfriends have been messaging me saying I am a fucked up human being. I guess the plate thought more of the relationship than I did? Im not even sure how many people she's told. How should I deal with this situation? Any reply will do. Its Christmas here and I am really frustrated right now because I didn’t do anything to cause this.

TLDR: Plate said lets take a break and I consented, but now my image is shit because she has been telling lies to save face.

EDIT: Everyone thank you I've been explaining to my friends and clearimg up misunderstandings, but who knows to how many people she had let her mouth run. I will confront her face to face later.
