The writer, Tara Culp-Resser, did not seem to realize that by her definition, the man can be considered a victim of sexual assault as much as the woman--leading to the absurd conclusion that they were raping each other.

consider the following scenario:

An intoxicated woman performs oral sex on an equally intoxicated man in public view. Some female passers-by outraged by the woman's loose conduct berate her as a slut and beat her up before she leaves the scene in the man's company. Which of the two would be seen as the victim deserving of public support?

That's a puzzler no doubt...

THIS! I've lost count of how many times women have given me this same false claim about "double standards", as if promiscuous men are great heroes in our society. No they aren't! Do people look up to Charlie Sheen, or is he a running joke? If anything, promiscuous men are the targets of envy and dislike by other men. The 80/20 principle seems to explain this, as what women really mean by the "double standard" of glorified male sluts is that these men are attractive to OTHER WOMEN who are such herd animals they aren't attracted to a man unless they see that OTHER WOMEN are!
