I can't even begin to describe the toll that the concept of masculinity has taken on my life.
Does this guy not sound like a faggot? "Wear pajamas. Drink hot chocolate. Talk about getting health insurance." Christ.
Not surprising that upworthy.com yet again completely misses the mark in favor of cringing left-wing political ideology. And the complete lack of regard for these boys who are truly in despair. It is deplorable for them to propagandize such misfortune.
These boys are not suffering from being told to man up. No, it is rather the only thing they are benefiting from. It is the only helpful message they are receiving.
What they are suffering from is a lack of male-given masculine guidance. They are hitting puberty without a clue about how to be a man; yearning, aching for a sense of direction in life from a strong, manly figure. But they are by and large deprived of such a benevolent influence in their lives.
The scourge of negative feelings they are besieged with are manifested in the need to healthily express masculinity. In a culture that actively demonizes all forms of masculinity, it is no wonder that we are seeing young boys slowly decay into crime and other lowly situations. What percentage of the prison population comes from single-mother households? 80%?
The lady who suggests the problem is that we reject feminine values... are you fucking kidding me? These are future MEN, not women. Men do not benefit from internalizing femininity. Men benefit from internalizing masculinity. She is so fucking delusional that she fails to view anything without her liberal-progressive filtration goggles.
As a man who grew up in a single-mother household, this issue strikes home. I am very angered that there are people trying to remove boys from men and masculine values.
"The greatest form of control is where you think you're free, when you're being fundamentally manipulated and dictated. One form of dictatorship is being in a prison cell and you can see the bars and touch them. The other one is sitting in a prison cell but can't see the bars, and you think you're free."

well said. this video presents a very real problem that needs to be discussed, but begins with the conclusion that forced manhood is the problem. real missed opportunity

These were my thoughts as well. The problem is that the "man up" message gets lost in all the sugar and spice bullshit that encourages men to be feminine rather than masculine. Nobody is teaching them HOW to be masculine and handle their own emotions. Instead, they are encouraged to be dependent on others for dealing with problems in their life.
It also pisses me off when I see women trying to tell men how to be men.

You see, when these young men get mixed messages about feminine and masculine virtues, they end up just confused and wholly misguided. They get the worst of both worlds: emotion + aggression = mass (school) shootings.

Boys raised in a feminized culture, which treats boys as defective girls, have no idea what it is to be masculine so they attempt to create their own concept since they are told by the feminized culture that the masculine model established over tens of thousands of years is bad even though it is the path to their salvation.

It's mind boggling to me when I look at our history, and these issues have never come up in the past. The masculine model you mention has WORKED for thousands of years. How come nobody is wondering why we only started seeing these issues brought up in the video in the past 20-30 years?

Wrong flair. This is hardly red pill theory.
The video itself isn't, but I am hoping to invoke some discussion/interpretations around the video that will uncover some good RP ideas around masculinity/how to teach young boys.

From the team behind Missrepresentation.
What I see: Women telling men how to be men, and shaming masculinity.

I saw this video on a friend's Facebook steam, and I want to have some RP discussion around it. Here are some issues I see with this:
Now I think the problem is that our society doesn't teach the proper way of being masculine: just "manning up" and "not being a pussy" don't do any good without a mental framework to provide the foundation for actually dealing with adversity/emotions in a healthy way (like TRP has done for me); instead those phrases just suppress instead of teach.
What do you guys see wrong with this video? Is it just another shaming tactic disguised using evidence of social issues today's men face?
