Study shows that OP cannot read a study. Nothing in that excerpt says anything resembling Money trumps Aesthetics.
It says that (for men) STATUS trumps all.
It says that "women value the financial status of prospective partners roughly twice as much as men do". And since the financial state of a woman is about .02% of her total status, it's about .04% of a mans.
It goes on to say that men fight for status. It refers to violence. It mentioned being humiliated. You know who doesn't get humiliated, good looking blokes.
Go lift some weights, reading isn't helping you

The fact that your username literally includes 'Turing' and you take a thread title as a blanket statement is retarded.
Money does trump aesthetics. Though it doesn't logically follow to say if you have money then you don't need aesthetics, it simply trumps it for many reasons.
For arguments sake let's say you earn 50k a year in your corporate status job and I earn one million a year at my tech company.
What can you do in any given day? You wake up, hurry to your job, take the train or drive, do some bullshit tasks to make yourself proud you're on your way etc, go gym, eat, poop and go to sleep etc. Every single day YOU HAVE TO DO THIS SHIT. You go back to your apartment with your roommates when you're 35 with 100k savings, whilst your wife moans at you for being a loser. (this life would be being generous with your time and discipline. Most people vegetate and Netflix after work').
What can I do? I can take an uber to work everyday' sell my company IF I WANT TO, I can work on IDEAS I want to work on, I can leave my company HQ for a quick hookup in the city whenever I want etc. I could also ruin you economically with one phone call if you came near my chick.

You're obviously not a tech company owner, nor do you know any, because people like the hypothetical man you describe are far busier than the average dude with a full-time job. I'm friends with millionaire business owners and even though we like each other, finding time to hang out is very difficult. Getting all of us together at the same time for things like birthdays is next to impossible.
Not to mention the ridiculous false equivalence you've built yourself there. Tell me more about how the average guy with an office job has no time for the gym, because I see them at the gym all the time.
Money does trump aesthetics.
Sure, man.
You're wrong and don't understand how wealth works and making stupid assumptions such as that you think they have no time to chill is retarded. Wealthy people have more time and flexibility than career people, to do whatever the fuck they want to do.
There are could be many reasons to your dilemma 'Finding time to hangout is very difficult'. They might not actually want to hang out or the fact that the rest of you in your 'friendship group' have normal 9-5s could be the reason it is 'very difficult' to find time for all of you.
Millionaires can be flexible as fuck if they want to be. Plus don't equate 'busier' with having no 'time'.
Though even billionaires have more time than your average employee, company founders work via information and delegation; 'information progression through email' and not actual presence in the workplace every single day. Though they can if they want, but most work is done through the delegation of information to employees.

With all this time you spend hamstering on how you don't need to lift you could actually have time to get your ass to the gym and lift some god damn weights!

Well I was Failing the Turing test. But now I can see I've got you fooled. Guess I'll have to change the name.
Long story saying how people who don't earn millions of dollars are miserable
I don't earn millions of dollars. I earn a 'decent' salary which would be comparable to your 50k a year comparison.
I wake up at 5:15. Run from my beach-side apartment, along the beach, to the gym (which overlooks the beach). After my workout, I run from the gym back home. I then make myself a a protein shake and a nice breakfast while watching the news. I then drive 45 mins to work (Ugh). At work, I work hard doing things that I enjoy, working with people I enjoy the company of. I'm quite good at what I do. I can call in and tell them I want to work from home, and that is acceptable as long as the work gets done. But generally I prefer to get to work and be part of the team. Then I drive 45 mins, maybe closer to an hour home (Ugh). Once a week I'll grab my dry-cleaning. Twice a week I'll stop via the supermarket. I'll choose to either cook myself dinner, or head out to a nice place for dinner.
I choose to go on dates mostly during the week so I can catch up with mates on the weekend, or go away, or reward a good plate.
I go on regular international holidays (once or twice a year, depends on location).
I own my own car and everything in my apartment. I rent my apartment. I have $0 debt.
I have limited savings, but they are growing. I'm moving to a different beach side apartment in two weeks. The cost of which (paying for removalists, throwing down the bond and 1st month rent) are already accounted for in my budget.
You know what that millionaire can do for a sheila that I can't? He can take her on an expensive holiday (like a bitch) or he can pick her up in his supercar (cough provider) or her can buy her nice things (beta). You know what I can do. Whatever the fuck I want. I go places, if they're worth it they can come with me. I fuck really well, if they're worth it, they can get fucked really well. I have a great body, if they're worth it... alright let's be honest, I usually let most sheilas have a little squeeze even if they're ugly.

He's right though. You're summarizing Buss' study in a three-words sentence that Buss himself would oppose.
Buss figured that status is sexy. Not money. Even if status often derives from money.
Imagine the guy who is super wealthy but puts all his money in a retirement account, using none of it, and living as a poor man. Is he sexually attractive? No.
What about the man who has not a dollar in his bank account and is ugly as fuck but is the most well-known rockstar ever. Is he sexually attractive? You bet.
So status is inherently sexually attractive, not money. And the question of whether status trumps aesthetics would be a good one to ask.
But the question of why women are attracted to wealthy men is worth digging deeper in. You must keep in mind AF;BB. Women want to fuck the sexually attractive man and want the man with resources to commit to her. A wealthy man has the resources by definition, which makes him a prime beta target, but if he also uses his money to display status, he will also be sexually attractive. He's an evolutionary jackpot, and yes in that sense, money trumps looks. But while a woman may be very attracted to a wealthy man because he combines the alpha's money-derived-status with the beta's large resources, her sexual desire remains for the alpha traits only. If our wealthy man decides one day to stop flaunting his money as status, she will lose attraction. And even then, money-derived-status is not always enough to generate tingles. If our wealthy man acts too much invested/submissive, she will eventually lose attraction. Hence the trope of the millionaire's wife fucking the hot pool boy, or why Elon Musk can't keep a wife at all.

Please explain the correlation between Turing and retardation, and your reasoning for making a title thread that is not a true statement.
In any discussion between people there is going to be differentiation between subjective thought based on inherent knowledge and experiences.
The one thing any person should be aware of when answering a question is that a few sentences or words can never fully explain life in all it's complexity.
Few statements are true in their entirety. So your question is nonsensical to begin with and you should know this. Life is a little more complicated than money trumps aesthetics but on a probability scale someone with money (500k plus net wroth) is more likely to be happy than someone without money (10k net worth).
[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So your question is nonsensical to begin with
My question was asking you to justify your title and your previous response, which you have failed to do.
[–]abbafishhead4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Rubbish. Nothing is more common than men with wealth and status who somehow managed to negate all of that, and then some, with their Blue Pill beta behavior.
[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Aesthetics = alpha
Money = beta
Money only trumps aesthetics if you are just itching to get divorceraped and spermjacked.

It's a sliding scale and it also depends on whether we're talking relationships or hookups. A broke, hot guy is going to get laid more easily than a fat slob making decent money. The fat slob may get a relationship more easily, depending on age and other factors.
On the flip side, an ugly millionaire rock star is going to get laid more readily and get a relationship easier than a broke male model.
it also explains why most violence is between men - men have more to win or lose from having (or failing to gain) status
This is kinda true, but it's definitely not the whole picture. Women compete intrasexually all the time. The difference is that women do it through gossip and behind-the-scenes social tactics. The amount of conflict is actually more frequent (ever meet a women completely without drama in her life?), but they don't come to blows about it unless they're way down the socioeconomic scale.
[–]1OneRedYear0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Status is what you have on hand at the time that a particular woman wants.
You have good looks + she wants good looks = high status
You have money + she wants money = high status
You have fame (advanced social proof) + she wants fame = high status
You have power + she wants power = high status

for a 1 night stand aesthetics trumps everything. question is if you wanna be the guy she fucks or the guy she wants to bond with. you could be both, but which is most beneficial to you?
[–]Daddie01 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A women can be with a guy for his money and will give him just enough sex and affection to keep him happy, and then go and have wild fucks with Chad.
Example: Hugh Hefner
No disrespect to what the guy has accomplished or his life style, but don't kid yourself, you cannot stay on top forever, and father time is not kind.
After he hit a certain age I'm betting every up and coming playboy playmate found him repulsive. Who do you think the playmate of the month would rather be passionately fucking, a ripped 20 - 35 year old stud, or an old man that could be her grandfather or great grandfather?

I haven't read the study but if Dr. Buss interviewed women, it's fucking useless.
Confidence + Charisma > Money + Physique
Game = Confidence + Charisma
[–]Conceited-Monkey2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So a fat broke guy who is unnaturally confident with an attractive personality will attract more girls than a wealthy male model?
[–]abdada2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, in real life, 100%. I see it every day.
A male model with money might get a lot of Instagram game or Tinder game, but that isn't real life. Once he gets the girls to come over, he's just another beta bucks with good looks.
Look at how many Hollywood millionaires are absolutely fucked over repeatedly by women. Repeatedly.
I know a lot of chubby broke ass losers chumps but they have charisma and aren't afraid to approach and open women. I know a DJ at a shitty dive bar who never has 10 cents to his name who takes home gorgeous women because he's got Game.
We tend to glamorise women as angels' whom can have their pick of any guy' but we're all human and we're all craving financial stability. We have limited scope geographically due to work and life obligations in any given day, month or year.
A guy with 10 mil has much more abundance than the aesthetically fit charismatic guy in a 9-5 whom has to go to sleep at the same day and be ruled by corporate hierarchy. He has to time his meals, his poops, his sleeping hours all harmoniously with work.
The guy with 10 million can fly out to Paris tomorrow 'IF HE WANTED' and nothing can stop him.

I'm in my 40s and I blew more quality days of my life chasing wealth than I lived to this point. I retired from working last year to focus on living and not on wealth and my life in 6 months has gotten 1000% better in every possible way.
I was a self made millionaire in my 20s and it was one of the worst periods of my life. I didn't respect my time, I didn't respect my money, and I just consumed uselessly. 100% of the people in my life were losers -- wealthy losers. The hot women I dated were losers -- some of them wealthy losers.
Now I'm actually living. I've spent more time with my aging parents in 6 months than I have in 15 years. I spent more time with my inner circle of guys in 6 months than I have in the past 5 years.
Being poor means having endless problems, but being mega wealthy does not solve additional problems. If anything, the richest 3 guys I know are miserable cretins, too.
The richest guy I know was a customer of mine for 20 years. He made $40 million in a year recently. He spins gorgeous plates, drives $500,000 cars, owns farms and yachts and expensive beachfront condos and he's got depression constantly.
Think about that: he earns $20,000 per hour. Per. hour. And he's depressed. When I knew him 20 years ago, he was earnin about $120,000 a year and he loved every minute of his life; now he's trapped.
I respect your personal experiences and your friends experience. These things happened to you and him because you acted out your thought to create the reality you thought would make you happy and it turns out that reality wasn't what you thought it would be and you changed it and are now much happier as a result.
He's trapped but not because of his money but because he never set out his purpose clearly. He thought those things would make him happy and reality hit him in the face and told him hey buddy you're human. He could easily Untrap himself. But the act of trapping himself is his own doing.
I don't want money to show status. I don't want money for women. I want money for time, peace and to live a life I WANT, to do WHAT I WANT, and to understand life fully for myself.
[–]failingtheturingtest0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I can make him happy for $5,000 an hour. Twice a week. Nothing suss, I'll just have a beer with him and talk shit.
[–]abdada2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That's why he hangs out with me once or twice a month nowadays. I force him to stop spending money and focus on doing shit. We pulled rope a few weeks ago and he was actually smiling a bit.
My ex-lawyer was a multimillionaire who publicly plated a famous model type gal. Rumor is he offed himself but the family called it natural causes. He was also ripped and handsome, but chasing the money didn't save him. Great guy, always the magnet of the room, constant tingles and giggles from cute women.
Money is great, but it doesn't solve inner issues at all. And the chasing of money can be the equivalent to putting money on the pedestal instead of your life.
[–]failingtheturingtest0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, but I'd still like it if you could swing me $10k/wk for little effort
[–]abdada-1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
$10000/week isn't that tough nowadays. Own 40 apartment rentals and you're about there, on average.
[–]failingtheturingtest1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's a lot of capital. You're detracting from my awesome point about not needing money.
Money is just a means to an end but chasing money doesn't get you there.
Most guys here want to create some fantasy of what it will take to succeed cosmetically. They refuse to work on confidence and charisma and instead want cosmetic external changes instead.
