Self improvement and women are a strange paradox, on one hand, to some extent, women do spur us to improve ourselves, on the other hand, for any real improvement to occur you MUST do it for yourself, otherwise you're in reaction, not causation.

This is undermining your point OP. "Make your life about yourself so that you can get women!"

This whole "ignore them and they flock" never worked for me.

Look..... make improvements to yourself to get women, because that's what YOU want. Same as you want the health benefits and increased testosterone and so on. You wouldn't lift if it made you unattractive and feel bad.

Don't worry, this isn't "getting fit to benefit women", this is "getting fit to benefit my results with women". Same as A&A, cocky-funny, dread game, IDGAF.... all of it is to improve your results with women. And that's what this sub is about.

You do it for the results, sex with girls amongst them.

And I really hate monk mode because it's ignoring the one thing you're doing all this for - to get better with girls.

I'm on monk mode too and it is annoying that now that you don't want the attention you get it... the peace and focus that you get in other activities is the best part of it and the extra amount of energy that you get is just amazing.

Yeah. I turned 20 in July, and got really into self-improvement in general in January of 2016. I'd felt really disillusioned from having my heart stomped the fuck out by one girl (I was a dumbass hopeless romantic who fell for the delusion of unconditional love and so on).

Got really upset and just decided I want to be better. Really got into the self-improvement sections at bookstores and started reading a lot and recommitting to my fitness endeavors for the military after college. Started working on myself, and through one of the books I started questioning why so many people tried to seek happiness in others instead of themselves. Got rid of social media, picked up guitar as a hobby, and continued to better myself in school and out of school. My main thing was wanting to be a better man and I left out girls because I really started giving less and less of a shit about them and just wanted to have friends to go out and do cool shit with like hiking, going on badass runs and train like beasts in general.

Then NoFap got rid of my weird lust habit and now a hot girl could walk by and I'm not really giving a fuck because I'm no longer governed by such desires. It's more like a fun thing if you're up for that.

Continuing to better myself and just focusing on myself and having other interests and goals in life works. I noticed more girls wanting to approach me now that I knew my worth and wasn't going around trying to please all of them.

Then a few weeks ago I found the Red Pill community and really started soaking up the knowledge and learned about female psychology and have been a lot more successful talking with them and so on.

The last weeks of my fall semester were full of approaches from women and me kind of just going with the flow, not really interested in them. It seems like I stopped putting them on the pedestal.

Fall semester of 2015 I would've become infatuated with the first girl that approached me and so on.

It's more about myself than anything that I want self-improvement, the girls is just a side benefit.

I'm glad to hear you're taking the appropriate steps forward after your grief. I'd like to ask: what happened in your relationship? Can you briefly explain what happened and how you handled it during the relationship?
