I'm in HS, and over the past months I've made some big changes in myself to become less beta. I've stopped mindlessly fulfilling "honey-do" type stuff for my girlfriend, especially if it's shit she could easily do. I've started recognizing and disarming shit tests and being more dominant, etc. My gf seems way more attracted to me since making these changes, too. Anyways fast forward to today, and this new kid from one of the local schools, who already has a bad rep from sports and word of mouth, makes eye contact with me and doesn't break it. We all know this is a dominance thing, so I stare right back at him and don't look away until he does. Towards the end of the day he passes me in the hallway and pulls the same shit, he says some stupid shit and I curse at him. Now I realize i shouldn't have said anything, because that'd be more intimidating, but oh well. I pick up my gf and start walking with her and he passes me again and makes eye contact again, so we have another stare down. He actually stopped, and starts acting all ghetto at me, so I tell him "I'm staring you down because you keep looking at me". I was ready to fight him if he escalated it. My girlfriend pulled me away (beta I know) and that was the end of it. Later on he texts my girl (she sent me screenshots laughing), apologizing that she had to see the confrontation, and goes on to say I was scared while trying to flirt with her, but she shot him down. I know what you're thinking, why is your girl fighting your battles. She didn't tell me until after the conversation happened. He later admitted that he was terrified, and "shit himself". I was actually surprised, because he seemed plenty confident, acting tough and everything. Eye contact is a powerful thing, if another man stares at you like that, you better stare right back.

TLDR: New kid acts tough and tries to hit on my girlfriend, but gets scared because I looked him in the eye and wasn't intimidated, so he backs off.
