It's more Anti Slut Defense than shit tests.

When a girl hits you with "I have a boyfriend" or "I'm not that kind of girl" or "I don't sleep on first date", what she's doing is effectively getting rid of any responsibility for anything that may come after.

By hearing her statement and keeping the interaction going, you effectively accept to shoulder that responsibility.

With the burden of potential social shame off her shoulders and squarely on yours, she can abandon herself to her feelings on the moment. And if her feeling is the desire to fuck you, it's ok because its not her responsibility anymore.

If on the contrary, you refuse to shoulder the responsibility (for example, if she tells you she has a boyfriend and you answer "it's ok we can be friends" even though you plan to insist later), then the responsibility remains on her shoulders: even if she desires to fuck you, she won't because then it will be her fault.

EDIT:

BEWARE. Do not go start believing that when a woman says "I have a boyfriend", it automatically means that she wants you. It can very well still mean she does not want you to keep going. "I have a boyfriend" can mean "I am not interested in you, but I wanna be polite about it" just as well as it can mean "I am interested in you, but I don't want to be seen as a bad girl so I'm telling you upfront so it's not my fault if anything happens". As usual with women, the truth about their desire is to be understood in their action and their body language. And the truth about the "I have a boyfriend" statement, you will find it in her reaction to your keeping escalating a bit further.

Agreed about the "I have a boyfriend" responses. Especially here in university. Before I discovered TRP I asked out this hb9 and she gave me the I have a Boyfriend response and my beta self believed her. Right after she said no I discovered TRP and as soon as I read Shit Tests 101 I realized that she hasn't said anything about this "boyfriend" in the months i've known her and there's no pictures of the guy on social media.

I ghosted her for 2 weeks realizing I can't fix what I have done so I nexted her and low and behold as I pursue another girl in the same class she tries to come crawling back to me.

Either wanting my attention for orbiting or actually wants to get down. Best case, I fuck both girls, worst case, I fuck neither but there's thousands of other girls looking to get pile driven.

Cute chick at the register at this restaurant sparks my interest. Make small talk and comment on her shirt and hat. Blah blah blah I'm confident, light and make her laugh. Damn this is a good post. What's your state of mind when you hear these shit test. Do you expect them? I once approached a girl at a bookstore. She looked really serious but she was cute. I was expected her to give me some shit and I was prepared to push through it. I asked her a question about her boots. She gave me the most giddy smile and seemed upbeat. I kid you not. Also note, the more shit tests someone gives to you, the less his/her value is. From a point onwards the more you respond, the more value you give to him/her.

We got each others number and I never contacted her or really spoke to her in class. After a few weeks she began texting me, usually just a "hi" or a random smiley face. Id ignore it about 80% of the time. I could not figure out why she would text me if she had a BF. Plus I was thinking if shes the kind of girl to talk to other guys while in an LTR I didnt want her anyway.
