SUMMARY A surprisingly clear-eyed view from a woman who acknowledges that the "love of her life" isn't her husband, but the previous relationship which "ended messily" to a man who "didn't want to date her" Well worth the read. I didn't see this as a repost, so am putting it up here.

Highlights:

Off and on for four years, we had this thing. I don’t know what you’d call it.

It's called FWB. You put out for his attention and he kept spinning you to keep you around. He recognized your worth, and it fell short of what he valued in a committed relationship.

I don’t know if he was waiting for something better, someone less complicated, someone less like him or what, but either way I wasn’t the one for him.

A perfect example of trying to rationalize using the hamster. She is deep and complex, so if he isn't ring shopping, he must be looking for an empty-headed bimbo instead. Right? It can't be that he found exactly what he was looking for in a woman willing to be pumped for 4 years, and then dumped NC.

Lessons Learned

When I met my husband, [AF] had been out of my life for just over a year.

Gentlemen, this is the warning and lesson of the article. A woman who's been Alpha Widowed is pitiful, but a recent AW is downright dangerous.
