Everybody throws around this "1 g of protein per lbs of bodyweight". Some say, 1 g or more. There are also many who claim that you should be eating 1 g per pound of your desired body weight, if you're trying to gain.

There's a smaller subset of people who think that 1-1.6 g per kg of bodyweight is enough.

An educated guess is that the optimal intake will vary from person to person, and that beyond a certain amount, you're just wasting shit loads of money.

I guess eating more protein couldn't be that bad - aka, who doesn't like steak? - but if I can help it, I'd rather spend less time and money.

Have any of you experimented with different amounts of protein?
