Hunter Gatherer:
Human civilization began as hunters and gatherers. Like most animals, almost all time spent awake was looking for food. The majority of the diet was fruits and roots. These made up 70% of the calories. They were easy to get so it was mostly female work. Although meat was only 30% of the calories it was vitally important because protein was scarce and needed for good growth and brain development. Hunting deer is difficult though and requires brute strength, speed, and good hand-eye coordination to use weapons like spears well. So the hunting was done by males and they were respected for it.

Farming:
Then humans transitioned to farming. With farming you could generate huge amounts of calories through grains, rice, corn, etc. And humans learned how to domesticate and raise animals to eat such as cows, chickens, pigs. Villages began popping up because farmers could make enough food to sell some. But still, the majority of people were farmers, with maybe one blacksmith or carpenter. Plowing was hard work requiring strength although with some help from horses, donkeys, oxen. So males did most of this. While females did little tasks like helping plant seeds, feeding the animals, collecting the harvest. Whatever else was needed around the farm. Men were respected and boys were wanted because they could help around the farm.

Service Economy:
Finally humans began moving to a service economy. With advances in robots (tractors, sprinklers) and scientific techniques to increase the productivity of farms, a small amount of humans could farm from huge areas of land and provide food for the rest of society. The majority of humans lived in villages or cities. Education became important because you had to learn a trade to be useful. For the first time in history the majority people became uninvolved with the process of making food. The best jobs were useful trades: plumber, electrician, engineer, doctor, lawyer. The worst jobs were those that just needed a warm body, ex. Receptionist, retail staff, cashier. The traditional advantage of males, physical strength, was no longer as useful. There were still some jobs like construction, police officers, firefighters, but they were the minority. Now males still dominated the top of every field, even traditionally female tasks like cooking, due to ambition, competitiveness, higher max iq or whatever reason, but for the large part, for the first time women didn't need men in the same basic survival sense as described above. And consequently the respect for men, based on the genetic survival instinct, was no longer there.

Future:
I think the inevitable next step is that technology/science continues to improve and we move even further up the value chain. Food is conquered now, but we still have the best jobs providing valuable services like doctor providing health, lawyers providing law. These jobs will also become automated, like farming, through technology and scientific advances. You'll need a lot less bodies. The next migration up the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs is pleasure/leisure.

Your food will be covered. Your basic safety of shelter, health, etc. will all be covered. Robots or a small group of humans will take the place of plumbers, electricians, construction, engineer, doctor, lawyer, etc. More and more human time will be devoted to leisure so the people making money will be comedians, or making movies, or fancy restaurants, or sex-related.

We're already seeing that today. You have the rise of social media. YouTube, Vine, Instagram stars making money. Internet. Movies making millions. Pornography and the sex industry. People become foodies and all kinds of trendy restaurants. Drugs legal and not, pharmaceuticals are killing it. Anything aimed at basic pleasure. It will be the first time in history that humans are not just removed from the making of food but also everything else. They'll live not in reality but in their minds and the enjoyment of pleasure.

What this means is that even less will males be respected. Physical strength will be almost completely removed from the equation with robots. Thats not to say females wont sexually still select for it, because our genes are still 10,000 years old. To be an Alpha Male will be the same. Women still look for the same physical: tall, goodlooking, muscular.

At the same time, making money will move even further in the opposite direction. In hunter gatherer times money/food came from physical skills. Then physical + intellectual. In todays world its barely physical + intellectual. In the future it will be completely intellectual. This will be interesting as women get pulled in two different directions and we see AF/BB become even more obvious.

Feminism:
However outside the bedroom, this trend of not respecting males for being male and masculine ideals will continue as masculinity will increasingly become necessary for only a small group. Feminism will continue. Not in its current socialist/communist form, because that will inevitably crash the system that allows it, but the focus on how girls are no different than guys, the lack of dismorphic focus will continue.

I know a lot of guys see us moving back to traditional times after feminism causes a big enough decline to reset the system, but thats not going to happen. Thats like Indians talking about the good old days of hunting free in the clean wild, and now we have dirty cramped cities. There is no going back. If you look at history we've only been moving towards more technology and science globally. The only time a nation took a step back is when it stagnated and a stronger nation overcame it. But globally the trend is upwards. Even after Rome fell, it just shifted the center of learning to the Persian/Ottoman Empire. The Dark Ages were exaggerated. They didn't lose the knowledge.

How to take advantage of this knowledge? Thats a different discussion. I know for sure though to focus on AF because that will never change because our genetics are too old. And don't wait for the storm to pass. It wont. Learn to play in the current system. No matter how much it grates you, feminism will persist and become a dominant ideology just like democracy today, that is untouchable.

TL:DR: As technology increases, the differences between males and females outside the bedroom will be less. Feminism will survive in a less aggressive form. Don't wait for the decline. There probably wont be a reset of the system to traditional values.
