Easy question, because the guy in question thinks a woman has the knowledge of how a man can attract a woman. Which she doesn't, because she's not a man and she's only been on the receiving end of the chase. They think she must know because she's a woman herself but that's faulty logic from the guys point of view.

A mouse doesn't know how to catch mice, it just knows how it has specifically been caught before, it's a mouse - it doesn't hunt mice, cats do. It's that kind of shit. It's stupid. You wanna get a girl? Ask a guy who has success with girls, he has experience in the chase from the guys point of view - the point of view you need to discern methodology. Women haven't got a fucking clue about getting women because they never have to do it. Asking a woman how to get a woman translates into "how would you personally like to be asked out?" and then 9/10 times that wouldn't work in practice, she feeds you some disney shit. It's fucking inane.

There was a post about a month ago titled "Asking women for dating advice is like asking trout for fishing tips" by u/JimmyTheIntern and he addresses the issue in a humorous manner.

Here's the copy & paste of the post:

Was going to crosspost this total facepalm of a thread, but I remembered we have new super-important rules to keep fake internet point counterfeiting down, for the sake of the children. So I'll just post my little bit.

Basically, this kid's asking women for advice on asking out a girl he doesn't know without creeping her out.

My response:

Asking women for dating advice. That's like asking trout for fishing tips.

Predictably, a woman chimes in with razor sharp wit and keen understanding of metaphor.

Dammit. I should have known better than to use an analogy with any depth. By focusing on the "fish don't want to be caught" part, she completely missed the point I was trying to make. For my own benefit, I decided to elaborate.

No, its because your domain knowledge in this case is limited to being the target. You have zero perspective of what a man needs to do to be successful with women from HIS point of view. Trout may know all about the mind of fish, but they have never gone fishing in their life. They might share which lure is the shiniest and note the wriggliest type of worms, but they can't help you with baiting a hook and casting it into the water. It's simply out of their domain of knowledge. No matter how deeply the trout know about themselves and their own tendencies, the fishermen are going to know far more about how to catch them successfully than the fish ever will.

Not perfect, but it raises an interesting point: our perspective as men is the major barrier preventing women from giving us useful dating advice.

It actually makes a lot of sense, you're asking someone what they're attracted to generally. The fact that it doesn't work and you get some shitty advice doesn't make much sense.

I think it's because MOST guys (not RP guys) assume a girl will know what needs to be done to "woo" a girl into a relationship or to have sex. But a girl will answer with what she "thinks" a "good guy" (blue pill) would do to woo her, and not what the guys she has slept with have done to be successful. She will tell you what she thinks a girl wants to hear. A guy will just tell you flat out what tactics work for him and the results. edit: So basically, if you take a girl's advice you are approaching a woman as a woman would, which is not effective.

I'm a woman.

Guys want advice to build attraction in girls that they like but the girl isn't attracted to them (yet).

This has always been a slippery slope that women discuss a lot... a lot.... Nothing is as strong as initial chemistry. When a woman sees a man (or woman) and thinks to herself, "wow," that's something special.

What usually happens is we are socially conditioned so that men initiate first encounters. This means that for the most part men will have a stronger chemistry for the woman than she has for him. Unless, the guy who approaches her is the same guy she's been quietly lusting after, then that works out. I know guys like to think that "attraction grows." And yes on some level she'll grow to care for you, but it's a function of familiarity and comfort NOT sexual/physical/romantic attraction. Think of the opposite it were true. What's the likelihood of that type of sexual interest growing for you if it were never there to begin with?

That's how you end up with so many women quietly resenting their marriages or not wanting to have sex as much as their partner.

I'll cue you in. My sex drive is INFINITELY higher with people I had that "initial attraction/spark/chemistry" with than those I did not. That is not to say she doesn't find her partner attractive, but if that initial "I WANT YOU" was never there it probably won't grow to be there in the way you're hoping.

I have one example where my mom told her friend who was married for ten years finally fell "in love" or "in passion" with her husband. Something happened where he became more confident. His swagger completely changed. He got fit. He treated her differently. He became a new person. So, in her case I can see that happening. I saw the before and after pics, and I would have fell for him too. Plus I can't imagine him as the corny gawkish guy they describe him as formerly. This was before I was born.

Women owe it to themselves to initiate romantic contact with people they have that initial sexual interest in. We might have to get use to rejection, but nothing is better than finding that mutual chemistry.
