Better to live up to your own moral standards. If other people are shallow immoral and worthless, thats their problem. Why change who you are to be compatible with assholes? Id rather be true to myself and live and die alone than lower my standards. Fuck those people.

Drunk Swede when you sober up, know this. None of the things you mentioned have to do with ethics or morality.

You can live the life you want without being a douchebag. All you have to do is to work within the framework you are given. Most people operate in the dead center of this framework, so they never get what they want. You have to operate on the boundaries. Simple examples:

Someone fucks with you. Let them know
You see a woman you want to talk to and she is talking to another dude but she is totally uninterested. Go save her

The problem with most people in TRP, especially mere readers, is that they believe you have to be a piece of shit to get what you want. You can be an assertive, top of the food chain motherfucker, without being a psychotic asshole.

You sound like a good kid going through the anger phase. All you have to do is to be you. Not the you of today, but the YOU you dreamt of being. Jacked, rich, drowning in pussy, w/. All you have to do, is to draw some lines in the sand and say "This is what I wanna do and no one will stop me. I will do all the work required to get there". No reason to step over other people's lines, just don't let them step on yours.

Now go lift some and the chips will fall in place. You will understand in due time.

Morality and ethics are actually critical, it's just that people these days typically don't have the right kinds thereof. Many pay an arm and a leg in allegiance and fealty to constructs that yield no benefits for them in return, they are honest not so that they will be trusted by people who will enter into mutually beneficial arrangements with them, but because they're indoctrinated that it's "the right thing" or some other raft of justifications, they're honest even with people who do not offer them the slightest shred of respect in kind and provide no benefits at all and with whom they have every reason to be deceptive from a rational cost/benefit perspective.

Similar situations abound for all the typical "virtues", they're loyal to their nations not because their nations yield a system which works for them, at best because they have no alternatives. They're loyal to their employers not because their employers actually improve their lives, at best because they can get no better. They provide for their families not because of the yield that provision brings to them in preference satisfaction, at best because they had no other alternatives, or could not even think anything up for themselves to do rather than pursue the default life strategy in the absence of suitable partners for that strategy.

In the meantime, if you are not honest when you need to be, when people need to trust you in order to enter a mutually beneficial arrangements that could yield enormous profit to you, they will not.

If you are not loyal when the situation calls for it, other parties will cut their investments in you exactly in accordance with the level of loyalty you've displayed to them.

If you do not do what you say you will do, nobody will provide to you what they say they will provide in return.

There's a big gap between the modern emotional view of ethics and the actual concrete justification for the institution from a systems analyst perspective. By all means throw out the former, but be very careful with throwing out the latter because you're setting yourself up for a much less fulfilling life in so doing.

Ethics and morality aren't something you owe other people, they're something you pay other people, and if you have any kind of intelligence and self respect, only if they return it in kind.

It's about not living to the script , plenty of people do exactly what they're told , live exactly how we're supposed to , and hold onto some false notion of being a good person and good luck to them in that but I have seen so many people undercut their own success by refusing to be even a little bit selfish . I think usually it's a fear of the unknown , everybody tells you to do Y so you do exactly Y and you're scared if you do Z instead you'll end up poor and even unhappier .

That's not how life works and any man who is worth ...even a little bit will figure out how to succeed even if he does make a mistake, even when he does stumble, even when he does fuck up . Why focus on playing it safe and getting the absolute average results that allows you ?

I am learning if you live life like everyone else you can expect to be just as happy and / or miserable as everybody else . There's a lot of miserable and unhappy people out there painting a smile on their face.

This rage will eventually pass and you will realize that society as a whole will put expectations on you while not giving a fuck about you simply because you are a man and that is what is expected of you. Embrace your freedom and realize that not giving a fuck is a two way street one that you can travel on. Sure there will be people who try and shame you but realize that the people who do that don't have to live with the consequences of societal expectations in your life.

I'm 46 and if I could go back in time I would punch myself in the throat. I grew up in the whole feminism push in the 70's, and was brainwashed until a few years back when I realized it was no longer about "gender equality". I don't blame anyone because I honestly think they thought they were raising me with the best intentions.

Kind of reminded me when I went to a baseball clinic for my kid 12 years back. Guy running asked "How many of you guys grew up with your coaches / parents telling you to get your elbow up?" All of us raised our hands. "It's the wrong thing to teach, because the first thing you do is drop your elbow..." "Let me ask you another one. How many times did you hear you are swinging like you are chopping wood, and it was meant not to be a good thing to be doing? That is exactly how you are supposed to swing!"

Do I really think that my coach & Dad did this on purpose? Fuck no they were just doing what they were taught and thought was best at the time.
