I call them out all the time on Call of Duty. You don't see guys going around having (MAN) clan tags or having usernames like Gamer_Guy or LookAtMeImAMan. But you get women that have the (GIRL) clan tags, the Gamer_Chick usernamer, a pink weapon and a logo that looks like a 9 year old school girls notebook. Above all they try so hard to have that "cute" laugh and voice. The point is, girl gamers over emphasize that they are girls for obvious reasons. But oh heaven forbid you say anything about it, because if you do the whole room starts White Knighting the shit out of you.

This is 100% truth right here. I tried to explain this years ago online and and of course got white knighted with an extra thick layer of beta fever. Wish I had known about TRP and it's terminology back then. It used to REALLY irritate me how any and every girl would get unending attention and confirmation of how great she was (even if she truly did suck) back when I used to play mmos.

Well, maybe they are where they are because of their masculinity.
The one on the left has a math degree and the one in the middle grew up around boys (IIRC).
What I'm saying, is that there's likely a selection bias for these three and that their behaviour isn't necessarily indicative.

It's a computer repair shop though, those things you listed are in my opinion pretty basic things, unless she is useful in computer repair beyond that I don't see why she's entitled to a job in computer repair. Can I get a job as a surgeon because I've learned how to properly stitch up a wound? No, because there is more to it then that.

Over the last few years I've also noticed this "gurl gamer" trend. What struck me the most after a few weeks of searching around is that the main common denominator among women who call themselves "girl gamers" is that they are either actresses and/or models. Now I am not going to judge someones choice in career, but it is staggering to see how on point that is.

If you look for yourselves you will see that this applies almost every woman on the internet (youtube/facebook/twitter/intsagram/tumblr/etc) calling herself a "girl gamer" either does modeling or acting.

p.s this does not apply to women who refer to themselves as gamers and not "girl gamers"
