Currently I’m taking a course about the study of Game Theory. Much of what you learn in college tends to have a liberal slant but Game Theory has been one of the most Redpill classes I’ve ever taken. I wanted to share with you guys some applications that I’ve picked up from studying this. They aren’t new conclusions but I thought it would be beneficial for new guys to see that we’re not just talking out our ass.
1) Animals use signaling games
In heuristic language, a signaling game is where an animal signals he is possesses certain characteristics to other animals by exhibiting certain behaviors or signs. For instance, an animal of prey might act extremely energetic and loud when a predator is around because he is signaling that he is strong and healthy, therefore the predator should attack someone weaker.
It’s also used in mating. Biologists believe now believe that the male peacock has such a long beautiful tail because it is his way of signaling to females that he is a healthy and viable mate.
What’s even more interesting is that female peacocks were shown in experiments to desire a fake peacock that couldn’t even move simply because he was given a beautiful fake tail. There are all sorts of examples like this in the animal kingdom, and it points to the idea that the signal is more important than reality.
Humans are just another species. If we assume humans play signaling games as well, then a lot of human interaction makes sense.
Picture your stereotypical club rats. Buff men in tight, nice clothes, acting loud and with confidence. Women in tight, revealing dresses and makeup. Both genders signaling to the other that they have desirable qualities. But much like the part of the male brain that dictates attractiveness can’t tell the difference between a real face and tits or make up and fake tits (would either of these industries exist if men could?), women’s tingles can’t discern between a man who truly acts of high-value one that actually is high-value. This is partly how you have guys with nothing in terms of money or status going out and slaying it. If you truly act high-value, people will believe it.
2) The second one is more of a general idea that came up when discussing auction games. Imagine you were going to buy a new car. You know the car usually costs $100,000, but you find someone who’s willing to sell it to you for $20,000. At first you’d obviously be ecstatic. But anyone with any common sense will soon get that sinking feeling of too good to be true. If this car is worth $100,000, why would he sell it for 1/5 of that? What’s the catch? There might be something wrong with this car.
Trying to get laid is no different. She wants the $100,000 guy. If you act like you’re worth $100,000 but then give away your attention and affection for $20,000, she will suspect something is off and chances are she won’t stick around to figure out why. This is why we have concepts like male compliance tests. Never make it that easy for her, make her invest and work for it.
Iff she isn’t willing to invest, did you really want her anyway? She was likely just looking to use you.
This is something I’ve even noticed from the opposite side. I know how women usually react to me. If a girl starts going way above and beyond what I expect, I immediately start thinking that something is off with this girl. Does she not have friends? Does she not go out and meet other guys?
The only difference is that I don’t really mind if she’s willing to worship the ground I walk on right off the bat; in fact it’s usually a plus if you’re just trying to get laid. Women on the other hand will be extremely off-put because their main concern is value (or at least perceived value).
