Is it possible?

Back Story

Since the new year, I've been dating a girl whom I caught feelings for way too quickly. As I'm only just getting back into the dating game after recovering from a break up 1.5 years ago, I was far too naive and judged her by her words rather than her actions. During this time, I basically made every blue pill mistake in the book, which I am disgusted by. This includes telling her I liked her a few days after having sex, being too available, and not judging her more based on her actions (example she claimed she was a good girl, but was out partying most weekends).

So, after receiving some mixed signals and noticing inconsistencies in her stories, I decided to end things while I still had some dignity. The tipping point for me was when she took a day off work to take me to some fancy restaurant on my birthday, only to spend 500+ dollars (I have always paid before this, please don't come at me), and then she dodged being physical afterwards. This was after constant texting communication, making it seem like we were in a relationship, which was confusing the heck out of me and something I was trying to avoid. She also originally told me she had been single for over a year, but I found out she was still seeing her ex in December during that date, which would just make me a rebound. Also the weekend before, she was too ‘busy’ to catch up.

Anyway, after I got home from that date, I messaged her that we need to have some space. By this point, I couldn't help but have some feelings, but honestly, if I had known who she was from the beginning, I would have treated it so differently. It's frustrating to see how I fumbled this and a good lesson, but given that I have backed away, do you think I can regain my frame? I don’t want to be serious with her anymore, but honestly, the sex was pretty good, and so being friends could be fun.
