Your thought process is backwards. You have a mental box named "girlfriend" and you're trying to fit acquaintances into it. Instead you should examine all of your friend-girls on an individual basis, and decide how far you want to take her into your life. "Girlfriend" should not be a goal - it should be an organic result of your interaction with a specific, individual girl.

There's a decent chance that if you already have an established "acquaintance," it's going to be an uphill battle to turn her into a girlfriend...and why do you want a girlfriend again?

Forget about your female friends that you already know. There are better girls out there, for a lot less stress. Go meet one of them, and from the very get-go, be confident, aggressive, sexual, and game the hell out of them. If picking up girls is what you need right now, read up on game.

But if you're asking, as a serious question, "How do I get this girl I'm friends with to like me as more than friends so I can have a committed long term relationship with her," there are about twenty things wrong with the fact that you're asking this question at all that ought to be addressed before even attempting to answer the question.

For in depth guides you really need to sit down and devote some time to the stuff in the sidebar. The other commenters have also provided good material. Just as an instant note, once you have introduced yourself into a girl's social hierarchy as a beta or blue piller, it's hard to get out of unless you know your shit (again, see sidebar).
