Time has been on fire with a couple of recent articles like this.

[–]anothercarguy[S] 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

when asked about experiences in the last 12 months, men reported being “made to penetrate”—either by physical force or due to intoxication—at virtually the same rates as women reported rape (both 1.1 percent in 2010, and 1.7 and 1.6 respectively in 2011).

In other words, if being made to penetrate someone was counted as rape—and why shouldn’t it be?—then the headlines could have focused on a truly sensational CDC finding: that women rape men as often as men rape women.

Kinda throws a wrench into "rape culture". Sorry for being a little off topic but it is nice to see some sense coming out in general media

It's good that Cathy Young and Christina Hoff Sommers are both regularly getting an opportunity to write for Time.

In a sense it confirms it, rape culture does exist, just it's towards men, not women.

Ah so that's where it comes from. The concept of rape culture actually makes sense in a prison context. The fact that the term has been obfuscated and misused so much that I'm only just learning this, pisses me off.

[–]joncho0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The director of some important world anti rape organization said that tape culture did not exist.

Feminists decided to ignore it and keep promoting the hysteria.

This doesn't even include sperm-jacking or cuckolding men and then raping them financially for the next two decades. Which personally would be so much worse than getting held down and raped in the ass with a strap on.

I don't have a Facebook anymore, but please, you guys that do, spread this stuff. Don't be pussies. Get this shit out there and heard. Present it without comment if you have to, to distance yourself from it and leave it ambiguous as to if you support it. But let it be seen.

Gotta counter the feminist cancer that spreads so well over social media with some logical, fact-based chemo.

Red Pill response: Don't share this on Facebook, as doing so will make you come across as a whiny beta and lower your SMV.

Men's Rights Activist response: Share this on Facebook in an attempt to change people's opinions and ultimately make the world a more male-friendly place in doing so.

Either response is understandable, but this is TRP. We don't change the world to better suit us; we take the world as a given and change ourselves to better our lives.

[–]RockTurgidson2 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

True, true. Can't disagree with anything you said.

[–]Azothlike0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The CDC also reports that men account for over a third of those experiencing another form of sexual violence—“sexual coercion.” That was defined as being pressured into sexual activity by psychological means: lies or false promises, threats to end a relationship or spread negative gossip, or “making repeated requests” for sex and expressing unhappiness at being turned down.

This makes me ill. To insinuate that ending a relationship if you're denied sex is "violence", of any sort, is a dark line of thought. Nobody is entitled to a relationship, and you can end it for any reason you want.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed, but the only way that we're going to get bullshit definitions like that tossed out of the reporting process is by making sure that women are seen for what they are, equally culpable for it.

If it can be proven, and communicated effectively that these behaviours are as common in women as in men, its our best bet of getting some sanity back as to what constitutes "sexual violence"

I'm speechless Time would post this, but if they keep it up, I just might send some money their way.

The tides are turning. The media attack on feminist dogma is coordinated.

[–]Radox_Redux0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm curious? Are their other examples of anti-feminism in mainstream media at the moment?

[–]anonlymouse1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There were a bunch of articles that came out in different newspapers at the same time with roughly the same wording and introduction about 8-16% of boys having been raped by women in juvenile detention facilities. That wasn't just Cathy Young, Barbara Kay or Christina Hoff Sommers writing what they usually write about, but much broader.

[–]pl231 1 points1 points1 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm surprised by this. The media is feminism's biggest supporter typically, not sure why they're turning on the feminazi?

[–]anonlymouse0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

The MRM has been growing, and there has been fatigue for supporting feminism for a long time by a large portion of the population. An excuse to hate on feminism will be received quite well.
